Thanks for the videos. I had to do this on my 91 S10 and it made the job straightforward and a breeze. Had to buy $100 of tools to tighten 4 screws, but so be it. Thanks again.

Thanks for the video. I had to take apart my Camaro's steering column and these series of videos helped. The lock pin was the one I got stuck on for 20 minutes but your video explained it nicely. I only took it apart as far as the turn signal switch which I had to replace. Many thanks.

Thank you so much. I watched part I, II and III and fixed my 1969 Corvette steering column that had a steering column for a 1978 Corvette. Very well done and clear. The video was very helpful.

Thanks for the informative video . l just finished fixing the problem in an '85 Suburban 4x4 we just picked up . Same column except shorter wiring harness and l had little ball bearings fall out on my lap and the floor . l did find them all though . l had bought a reverse torx socket set, but couldn't use it as it was 3/8 drive and were too fat to clear down to the bolts . A normal 1/4 in. 1/4 drive deep seemed to work fine .

That black gear that you mentioned does come out easily. So, if anyone were to forget to put the steering wheel locking pin in, they can I stall it (the steering wheel locking pin) easily by simply putting a screwdriver behind the black gear and simply raising it upward. It also go back in easily and locks back in place.

On my 1985 Dodge B250 Ram van, a 1/4" socket fit snugly on the Torx screws and I was able to tighten them down with no problems. Can't vouch for what screws are used in other vehicles. My guess is it varies more based on the year/decade of the steering column, than on make/model of vehicle, so 1/4" socket should work on a lot of other vehicles in the mid-80s also (GM, Dodge, etc). Thanks for the helpful video!!

@AtomicPunk3 Thanks for the tip . l used a 2" screw (same thread as electric box light fixture mounting screws) with a little nut, small body washer and shallow socket, to pull the pivot pins . Worked great .

Hey Jojo, thanks so much for this video series, it's given me inspiration and confidence to attempt the repair on my jeep...but I've never done anything like this before, so seeing it all get put back together in part 4 would be a really great help for me. Any chance that you have part 4 lying around and just haven't uploaded it yet? Pretty please.

you dont need but one 8-32 screw 2 inch long and thread a nut all the way on it with a fender washerand put a socket large enough to let the pin pull out tighten the nut against the washer that is tightening against the socket.since it hit a ridge on the column i used another washer to shim the other side to straighten the pull and it pulled them with ease

Welcome to my hell. Had to search and search and search for replacement bearings for my 78 Firebird. Thank god I found this video before I dig in past the turn signal switch because I could definitely have messed it up. No one at Napa, Autozone or O'Reilly's had any idea what the pivot pin remover was so I had to order it.

Got it tightened up just fine. However two small spring metal clips fell out of the collar assembly. I am thinking they are from the bright light actuator on the end of the blinker assembly. Can't seem to figure out how the small plastic piece is retained in order to push on metal wire that makes the bright lights come on. Any Advice?

Great vids. A few questions: A)You say the bolts had "anti-seizing" compound on them, but you clean it off and replace it with thread-lock. Aren't those opposites? Why would it have had anti-seizing compound on it... manufacturer error? B) What was that buffer/grinder you used on the bolts? Do I need that or can I get by cleaning them with a rag and some lacquer thinner?
