What‘s the difference of this version and using the Elgato Camlink?

I know this is a bit late, but the main difference that I'm seeing is that this will only work for a window capture software, so applications like Google meet, Skype, bluejeans, etc.. Won't automatically pick it up as a Webcam, which the cam link does. Not sure if there is a latecy difference, but the cam link is instant like a webcam would be so it's essentially plug and play with no added delay in your streaming software.

You need to use the Canon software entitled "EOS Utility" from the disk that came with your Canon camera, or you can download from the Canon website. After you connect your Canon camera (I just did it with T2i, a 2010 camera, so it should work for every Canon camera after that), run the EOS Utility and it will recognize the camera and give you a menu of choices. Choose "Camera settings/Remote shooting." That will bring you to a panel on the right side of your screen. Towards the bottom of that panel you will see "Live view shoot . . . ". Press that and you will hear your camera shift to live view and should see a screen showing whatever your camera is pointing at. I just used it with Zoom and it worked. Just to test it, open Zoom (I downloaded Zoom to my PC running Windows 7) and choose "New Meeting." What you do in zoom is choose "Start a Meeting" and then on the next screen choose "Share Screen." You will then see all windows you have currently running including the Canon screen with your camera's image of whatever the camera is pointing at. Double click the screen with the Canon image and that image will be viewable by anyone you are connecting with on Zoom. I haven't yet tried it on Skype, but I believe it would also work there. Hey big thanks for the Sony webcam tip. Only problem, is that in OBS Window Capture mode is lagging a lot (although in Remote it moves fine). Does smb know how to make the video (in window capture) more smoother in OBS? Audio is fine also. Thanks!
