I'm 36, so I grew up with technology as it advanced, but I also had a girlfriend and played sports and stuff like that... 😁 Honestly, Jack, thank you so much. I recently upgraded all of my tech just in time to be stuck at home indefinitely. I have an hp 1.9g and it does pretty much whatever. LOL. I just got this software so that I can make a tribute video for my cat, Lenny Kravitz aka Monsuir Poof and Stoof. An actual cat, not the musician/rock god... Lenny passed away too young and I want to immortalize him. The info I got from the video is gonna save me so much time. Thanks again. All the love from British Columbia to everyone in the world. 🍁

Great, informative video, Jack! One tip: If the video imports upside down as it did here, use the rotate tools under Cutting and Splitting to rotate at perfect 90 degree intervals. It's a bit easier than trying to do it manually. Also, I wish you had covered basic trimming, otherwise stellar. I like your style; enthusiastic with a great sense of humor. Thank you!

Great stuff as always Jack. I'm an old dude, just trying to figure this video editing gig out. VSDC does look pretty easy for a beginner though. Thanks for the tutorial, it all makes sense with a little instruction. Is it easy to insert text on a video clip, lower thirds, that type of thing with VSDC? Keep doing your thing Jack, you've got mad skills, much appreciated.

I feel your pain, while learning this process (I started last Dec.) I've been through three or four editors and have come close to walking into traffic to end my misery, or sticking a butter knife into my toaster. Not even my own son would help me, because he "doesn't like editing," he just plays games. Why did I even HAVE him? Lol... I'm fleeing Shotcut and going to try this one...well, I guess I better get out a box of tissue...but I'll probably end up going back to Kinemaster on my phone, it's just do darn easy, and the watermark for the free version is discreetly in the top right corner, so much better than other free editors. I don't even know if this one has a watermark...ugh...

Hi Jack I am totally new to V-editing. Can you teach me how to make a video out of 120 rendered frames of a 3D model. I start a new project at 1200x800 px and 30px/sec, then I insert all 120 images and add them to layer. In the properties window under Object creation time, Time(ms) is set to 00.09.55.000 and Time (frame) 17850. Under duration it is set to (ms)00:00:05:000 and (frames)150. Now on the timeline I see the thing takes almost 10 minutes, while I want just 4 seconds at 30frames/sec. What is going wrong?

Not a comment, but a question. I want to make a demo-reel of my work, and I want to add a scene of me from a short-film I played in and that I have on a DVD (or it could be also from a download of this film from youtube). Now, do I need to load up the complete film to select the wanted scene and cut it out, or is there a way on narrowing it down to about where the scene is and cut it out from there, to just fine-trim it after and use it in my edition? You showed us how to do something similar but your 4 or 5 scenes were quite short. What I mean is when you have a long sequence and you want to use only a short part of it.
