This is one of the best videos I’ve seen. You explanation of every step is perfection. I will be using this when I replace my grille on my 2023 Tacoma TRD Off-road. I ordered the grille with the gray/cement lettering. If I don’t like it I’ll plasticoat it flat black. Thanks for your dedicated DYI assistance

Jake, disregard my inquiry on part number. I found it in the link provided. Is I had was I ordered with that part number but it automatically changed it to an AA at the end of the part #. Don’t came without the TSS Amex or area cutout. And it was a silver gray lettering

Great video. Definitely helped my install process for the pro grille. I was wondering if you see any differences with how the image is depicted on the 360 degree view for the front camera. It seems to be a little misaligned with the side cameras of the 360 degree view. I assume its due to the position change of the front camera on the grille.

Having issue finding the correct Toyota OEM part number like this video has. I think I need a VIN to place an order once I get the part number. I ordered one that is a Toyota OEM, silver letters, but the TSS sensor area was not cutout even though it had the correct mounting behind the grill. I’m not willing to take a dremel to cut it out so I’m sending it back. Can you supply the part number? I may have missed it if you did already. Thanks for the great video

Just had this grill installed with my TRD Lift kit on my Tacoma and honestly I’m disappointed in the camera position. Why doesn’t anyone mention that angle of the camera completely changes to a forward view where you cannot see your bumper anymore. I depend on this camera to park in my garage as it’s very tight. I now I can’t use it for parking anymore because It’s facing forward and not down. I ended up losing a function that I used every day to now something I hardly use at all anymore.

I followed this pattern with my 22 trd off road with front camera with exception of using grille PT228-35200-AA instead. I wanted the silver letters. I haven’t had any issues for about 500 miles of using adaptive cruise in highway/freeway environments, about 20 miles of cruise in a rainstorm, no faults of any kind so far

Gonna be doing this with some raptor lights to my TRD OR soon, since the camera is sitting more up than usual on the grille, did you have to make any adjustments in the infotainment system to get everything to line up? Or is it just good to go as soon as you get it in?

Mine has a slight bronze-ish tint on the letters. The color grade on the video probably throws it off a little bit

Does not having a lift affect the camera placement or sensor since the camera and sensor are in different positions but the height of the truck doesnt change without lift?

My bad.. Didn’t check the description. And I didn’t even realize yours is the blacked out grill from the TRD lift kit. I’ve been trying to order that exact grill. So far various dealerships have refunded me 3 times because I don’t have a Pro Vin. I haven’t tried the dealer you linked to yet. Did you have to give them a Vin? Starting to get pretty frustrated at how hard they’re making it just to get a grill. Thx!

No its not removable. Some of the aftermarket grilles have removable letters but then it just looks like something is missing in the middle

You forgot to screw the camera on the new bracket.

No need to put the tiny screws back in. The way the slots slide in the bracket theres zero play and no reason to use the screws again. But you definitely can if you prefer

Is there any problem with the TSS sensor being relocated to a different position. Does it affect the way the system performs or give any kind of false readings?

Goin ok with no faults, cruise work ok etc? I gotta believe the tss sensor has to be close but not exact, I mean any unmodified truck could have shock wear, a heavy load in the back of the truck changing the truck angle, low air pressure in a tire, anything like that would affect that sensor angle so this should have some forgiveness it seems

Ive seen a few people have the “collision alert” pop up warnings. But i think the angle has to be pretty far off for it to do that. The Type of garnish has something to do with it as well. Some of the amazon ones ive seen block the sensor a little too much
