It's a good explanation of the basics of the ruler tool when assembling from the start. But what I want is somebody to show me (or tinkercad to provide), a measuring tool so I can measure the distance perhaps between hole centers, or fractional units. So far, haven't been able to find that. Not w/o a lot of ungrouping/regrouping on complicated parts.

Excellent tutorial. That ruler boggled me.... and i discovered that i was using the ruler wrong.. it does not measure inside an object (ex.a square cut out in an object)..i had to measure the cut out before i merged it...

Hi, I am curious as to how you can use the ruler tool to measure the top radius/diameter of a cone. The ruler works for the bottom of the cone but not the top value and I can't seem to find a way to do this.

So there is no way to get measurements of a tapered object like a cone or bottle? It seems to only measure the widest part of the object regardless of orientation.

That's not everything, actually. What if I had an imported .stl file that is a disk with a hole in the middle, and I wanted to measure the diameter of the hole? I am in a quandary... Thank you

Ya, my problem also, and nobody has a good solution it seems. What's in this video is kind of obvious, but the problem of measuring holes in parts is a huge problem for me. I know some people bring objects from the side, check their measurements and then fit them in the holes but when I've tried that, the alignment is always a little off.

Tinker cads measuring system sucks and even the snap to grid sucks and the grid needs to be able to be expansive not so limited so many flaws sucks it’s kindve essay but not really to use but after a while and lining stuff up and counting with tapping on the arrow buttons so many times for the MM it’ll take forever but eventually work out

This ruler tool is absolutely useless when you're trying to measure dimensions of an imported .stl file, unless that file is just a regular cube with nothing else lol As soon as that cube has a hole in it and you're trying to measure the dimensions of that hole, you're out of luck seemingly. At least I can't figure out how to do it in tinkercad.
