I cannot express the thanks I have for these videos, your warmth and presence make these enjoyable and the pace is good. I hope to learn to make the ideas I can still see in my head, into reality. love the video. question, lets say after I design that plate in the video I forgot the size I made the holes. is there a way to use the ruler tool to accurately measure the diameter of those holes? or an other window created? thanks

You can ungroup and check all of that. You can also double click to edit the grouped project.

should be able to hold shift when selecting the corner u want to drag from but instead of dragging just select it then typing the number should change both. i always have to hold the shift for each time i select the point i want the change made on.
@HLModTech3 жыл бұрын
Interesting. I will test that. I use the shift drag in just about every project I create. It was so odd for it to not function as I was used to. Thanks, tons for the tip!

Man, Tinkercad would be so powerful if it had a good measuring system! It wouldn't be that hard to institute. All I can think is that Autocad wants their free program Tinkercad to be crippled so people will move up in their product line. I really like Tinkercad even with it's limitations, though! Just an amazing program!
@HLModTech7 ай бұрын
I used nudge skills instead of measuring for a long time. The more I use the ruler to more I find ways to put it to use. You are correct that Autodesk views Tinkercad as the intro. Since it is 100% free I do understand that they need users to eventually grow out of it. I love spending my time trying to make it do everything I want so I never have to pay for the big boy tools. =)
@joeking4337 ай бұрын
@@HLModTech Yeah, Tinkercad is an amazing program that makes things into intriguing puzzles as to how to figure them out. It's really good at exercising the mind! You would think that someone would come up with a competing program that would be better? I would gladly pay more for an improved version of Tinkercad. Maybe since TC is free there is no incentive to do that. Or maybe there is some kind of patent on it is all I can think.
@HLModTech7 ай бұрын
Someone has to be making enough money with the other programs that they are willing to dev a free program. I have tried a few of the other programs that have free or web interfaces. They always have features that you have to pay for. I love that Tinkercad does not have a pay version with more features.
@joeking4337 ай бұрын
@@HLModTech I would gladly pay for an improved Tinkercad program! I'm looking at Sketchup, it's $119 at the base level. I would buy an improved Tinkercad program for that in a heartbeat!
@joeking4337 ай бұрын
@@HLModTech It doesn't have to be free! Maybe $100 or so would be cool! In fact, I HATE free programs! The most worthless system I've ever seen! All it does is ruin innovation!
