After the week 7 game of '22 Fields *finally* said something publicly about the plays Matt Eberflus refused to answer questions about since week 5. Those plays were the ones where Fields would _see_ an open receiver, wind up to throw, then look Very Shocked then stop himself. You all say "he holds onto the ball too long" _now_ as if it's old hat, but at the time this was the First Time Fields had ever left an open receiver un-thrown to. The thing is he looked So Unnatural doing it that everyone watching thought he must have been concussed only we didn't see it happen. Then he did this again that same game & the Bears didn't take him into the blue tent. This is when Everyone _knew_ something unpleasant was up & their hearts sank. How could the Bears *know* he wasn't concussed without checking? He was carrying out those plays As Called. The Bears *called for him* to not throw to certain receivers on certain plays. Even if that receiver got open. Even if they were the Only Receiver that got open. Now I know You The Fans remember this because you all invented Your Own Lie to excuse this & it was "they _had to_ call those plays to simplify the offense _FOR_ Fields." *That's how obvious* this was a coach's call was, that everyone said it outright. It was only after people realized that this implicated the coaches that they changed the narrative to blame Fields. "These plays force him to have to hold onto the ball? Let's say it's Fields' choice!" Anyhow, back to Poles. If I'm the GM whose career can be haunted by trading an apparent bust for almost nothing instead of the #1 pick for a wad that could make the team that pays my $ a contender for years, I would want to make sure I didn't do wrong merely due to some saboteur coach. But he wasn't concerned about this possibility? That tells me that The Reason he hired 'Flus over the much better-qualified candidates was that Eberflus agreed to moving on from Fields & calling plays designed to make that look like the Right Choice. & when You The Fans _realized_ this, y'all dove deep into denial. That's why, for Fields' sake I'm writing all of this. The intentional sabotages like calling o-line plays designed to get him sacked kzbin.info/www/bejne/fJrMfGVni998ldE, cancelling the plays used to lead the NFL in offense 3 weeks straight etc. could have ended his career. As it is, they certainly set it back at least 2 years. So this kzbin.info/www/bejne/a3uyYoOpqtV5lbc is for all of you. It's a video showing Caleb's college highlights spliced with Fields'. seen together one can tell that Fields is equal to Williams in everything except passing. *Fields* is Far More Accurate a passer than Williams. It's not even _CLOSE!!_ His receivers never get really open yet he fires low-flying lasers that hit them in the hands. All you have of Williams is his college play, & that play is inferior to that of Fields. You *downgraded* at QB! Enjoy yuor 4th-rounder.

I’ve been defending Fields since his rookie year. Have never missed a game since. He’s always shown the flashes in a flawed and dysfunctional team.. That prime time Steelers game, they had a great defense and he still lead them to what should’ve been a game winning drive.. Bears defense blew the game. But from there on out, I just knew his potential was out of this world ! His TD pass to Mooney was nuts. Fast forward 3 years later, he’s improved so much don’t care what the haters think. Bears know what they have in Fields

@@JalapenoHomies Judging from the new OC signing who has never worked with rookie Quarterbacks ever and he is using the same terminology from Getsy's offense to his offense makes a nice baseline transition and second off Kliff Kingsbury was never hired so there goes a direct connection to USC (Caleb W.) and from a practicality stand point going from Fields to Caleb who have very similar play styles would just be us going back to square one.

This is a promising team. After the offseason moves you can definitely see the room for improvement. Better QB play, better WR, more cohesive offense should go a long way in fixing this team. The defense also looks promising, though it can definitely improve on the line.

Falcons fan but I fw the bears. The play for yall is to get 2 of a terrible teams picks over the next 3 years and make a team. I really think the play for yall may be to give this man a squad. Either that or the cw hype train isn't really building that much steam, amongst GMs. and yall are locked into the pick. I'm curious about what actual bears fans want to happen.
@UsefulPreconceivedNotions

1) Eberflus Himself boasted about how He Decided what plays to limit the offense to. So right there, blaming Getsy for anything is hypocritical. If you're trying to say he was terrible, then how tf is Eberflus the guy looking over his shoulder saying 'Yea' or 'Nay' competent? 2) When the order came to tell Fields to Not Throw to certain receivers on certain plays, *'Flus* defended this play-call, not Getsy. Well, sorta. These were the weeks that Eberflus started gaining a rep that he couldn't handle speaking to the press because every time they asked a question about this play-call he brought down his arm in a chop-wave motion like an angry father would do to their kids. This all played out on camera at the time. 3) After week 7 Fields _FINALLY_ publicly said something way too vague about all this. This was a huge risk as no one likes players who speak about team affairs no matter how talented, no matter how unfair this is. Remember how the team responded though? No? That's because they hadn't. There was No Response. Isn't that odd? If I'm the HC & I'm not the one causing this problem & my job really hinges on making it with this QB the Very Least I would *have to do* was publicly reprimand the QB & conduct an internal investigation. If I'm the team's owner I'd want to know what coaches were taking my $ then turning around costing my team wins & revenue. If I'm the GM whose career can be haunted by trading an apparent bust for almost nothing instead of the #1 pick for a wad that could make the team that pays my $ a contender for years, I would want to make sure I didn't do wrong merely due to some saboteur coach. But they said nothing. & in doing so they pretty much told us that they never had any intention of working with Fields by dismissing his concerns. That was week 7 of '22. You think they called plays designed to make Fields look like a quality starting QB _after_ that point? Well it's even worse than that because they DID! But only long enough to let this whole story boil over. The non-stop questions by the press combined with Fields' public airing caused them to change the play-sets & from weeks 8-10 Fields led the pre-D.J. Moore Bears to being the highest-scoring offense in the league. So here's a question: who *cancelled* those plays? If you say Getsy, then same problem as above. How tf did Eberflus no notice his own OC not calling those good, scoring plays for over a year? If Fields was the problem, how did he score so much during those weeks? If you want to say it was a fluke, by all means, show how often Sam Darnold, Zach Wilson or any other crap QB does this? I'm sure the timing of this all was a coincidence, eh? I swear, everyone acts like Eberflus is their Favorite Uncle. The offense out-scored Mahomes, Allen/Diggs Tua & Tyreek. & you know what Bears' *fans **_said about_* them losing those games? "This just proves that _Fields_ can't win games." Eberflus was So Responsible for the defense you all now credit him with its growth & likely can't even name who the DC was at that time. But then that would mean His Defense lost all those games. So you all went through mental gymnastics to blame the QB for everything anyway, why not for failure of the defense as well? Anyone but the beloved totally inept HC.

First, Thank you for doing this and great job! I know they are highlights, but I still lean for the First down in my chair like a nitwit. A few observations: This new breed of announcers are rather weak compared to the Immortal voices we had in the past. Cosell. Summerall and Madden. Curt Gowdy. John Facenda. Those guys brought the game to life! As for the Bears, The much improved "D" is for real. Seriously. Also, last year's draft will go down in history as one of the best. Roschon, Stevenson, Wright. All look like studs. Furthermore, The Kid at QB is too electric to let go. The city loves him and he's a good role model. Keep him and trade the 1 for a boatload of help on both lines. Summary: We may not be as far as they think. Detroit made a run out of nowhere. We got Next. BearDown!

@23:36 the fact the Justin doesn't get those calls gives the defense a strategical advantage. The second you throw that flag defenses are put on notice and everything opens up. JF didn't get one roughing the passer call the entire season. Teams definitely try to send a message to JF when he runs. This was an obvious kick to the chest.

The game against Atlanta, Mulley and Haugh of 670 the score stated they would have liked to see the Bears win in more convincing fashion. The score was 37-17. In the NFL the average points scored per game and points against is around 22. They claimed that JF should have done more and implied the Bears should consider the game a loss. My point is to be careful listening to the talking heads there often full of it and don't understand any more than the average fan. They're team CW and state things like he's the next Mahomes and never talk about actual stats or the fact CW played inferior competition which allowed him to rack up stats.

You're meaning to tell me Caleb can do all of that? Escaping to extend plays, finds great spots on the run, will run in case there isn't anything available, etc. Keep JF, trade down to get mhj and a center, etc. What's a better story? Making JF a true franchise qb who has what it takes or trying to start over again and risking another failure reset?

I can't get enough of this season. The story of the season was blown opportunities. And I believe the main culprit is Luke Getsy. He was almost as inept as Matt Nagy. A complete idiot who couldn't call plays in the red zone if his life depended on it. And what sentenced him to being fired was the Green Bay game at the end of the season. What in the WORLD was he doing? His gameplan was horrible. And that's an understatement. I can't even begin to describe how absolutely stupid he was. I am very glad we hired Shane Waldron. Let's see how that plays out, either with J Fields or Caleb.

@@sheffrudytke1086 Right? At least Fields beat good teams in college. If you ask me, if we're absolutely going to take a QB in the draft which would be dumb, but just to humor it... I would take Maye. Caleb is a shorter, slower version of Fields. He has all the same issues Fields had coming out of college, except he's not as tall and no where near as fast. And he went 2-9 against ranked opponents when Fields was consistently beating ranked opponents. Also, Fields doesn't complain. He puts his head down, goes to work, and tries to get better. Meanwhile Caleb seems like the most diva QB in college. The Chicago media will eat that kid alive, and that says a lot for Fields that he's been able to handle all the criticism and still get better. Coaches love him, his teammates love him, most of the fans love him. Idk.
