Some of the coolest moments I’ve ever seen from these characters: Batman saying “I don't care how many demons he's fought in how many hells. He's never fought us. Not us united.” and the “Not impressed.” scene with Superman. Zack’s interpretation of these characters is so hard hitting and realistic. I love how Wonder Woman’s powers are portrayed here, she really feels like a god

4th film of the DCEU. Zack Snyder's 3rd and final directorial effort for it. A better defined cut of it is a crown jewel of the superhero genre. Snyder had signed on to do 2 JL films and a trilogy was being developed. After the 2017 theatrical version was released to most critical disappointment and (somehow) still huge Box office, we knew that it wasn't the one we were expecting. Also not right for his film to be altered and it did hurt to hear about Snyder losing his daughter. That's why I've been rooting for him as an person and not just a filmmaker. These episodic parts feel like old school full-length movies. Start and stop with intermissions and continuing onward. Batman V Superman:Extended Edition really did play a part in these set ups for what's coming in the final conflict. The best 4 hours I've ever enjoyed. So much more of what we deserved. The camerawork, original score, great alternate footage, the action sequences, drama, humor, everything we needed. Just to see what we've waited for since reading the comics and watching this universe unfold on film. A glorious moment and nobody thought it was possible. This Snyder cut also had set up further storylines and additional characters for in the DCEU. Ones that did seem promising, but we'll never know. Although this universe is over, I was rooting for it a lot. That much could be build to make it better.

As an home release with everything single scene put back in, it would've been like The Godfather box set. Also Snyder was originally signed to do 2 JL movies. The reshoot version is the version your speaking about in 2017. The original version is ZSJL. If you watch the first & second trailer, they were all in Zacks version (the original). The other trailers were all Reshoot and changed. That’s why back then m, alot of people said why the background of the trailer is changing alot.

Those visions are premonitions. We started seeing these "Knightmare" visions in Batman v Superman. In a reality where Darkseid acquires the Anti-Life equation and gets Superman to do his bidding. Darkseid has conquered over 100,000 worlds. His purpose is to own all of existence so they all are subject to him. Zack Snyder planned on 3 Justice League movies to tell the whole story arch. We only ever got to see the first film. Justice League 2 would have been like Empire Strikes Back. Where the bad guys are winning. In this movie, even the mother box instigated a vision to Cyborg as they were about to bring Superman back as a warning of this reality. The mother box showed the death of Lois, Arthur, and Diana. Even Joker seemed to be aware of alternate realities as Flash messes with different points in time instigating alternate realities. Justice League 2 would showcase the death of Lois Lane, pregnant. Aquaman, Wonder Woman, and Harley Quinn. They would show the Flash appearing to Batman through time travel as we saw in Batman v Superman. Except from Flash's point of view and realizing this was the wrong point in time to go back. Justice League 3, Flash finally gets it right in his time travel to the past to change history. Lois, Harley, Arthur, and Diana live again. Then we get the modern interpretation of when man, Atlanteans, and Amazons come together to fight Darkseid. Just like the ancient age of heroes. The age of heroes finally comes again! -OG

There are two different Batmans. Batman the Detective is a vigilante who fights bank robbers, gangsters and saves cats from trees. He never sees aliens. Justice League Batman hangs out with superbeings and they respect him. He fights aliens and robots and gods. Ben Affleck is the ONLY person to play Justice League Batman. All the rest are detectives.

@@Cowabungas No way you actually believe that. No way I can take that seriously. MCU Thanos woud get demolished by Snyderverse Darkseid. In fact, Thanos would get stomped by Steppenwolf. And the famous Thanos crutch aka the infinity stones/gauntlet wouldnt work if you know how they were setup in both comics and the MCU, the stones will not work against those who are not within the same universe, or from the same universe. Therefore it will not work against Darkseid or Steppenwolf because they're not from that same universe and no infinity stones exist within the Snyderverse or those particular DC comics. Thanos isnt near as tough as people make him out to be. Hes just a smaller weaker purple hulk/tougher bigger purple man, who just happens to get power due to the ultimate CRUTCH, the infinity stones/gauntlet. They even had to NERF Hulk in the MCU so that Thanos would be able to "believably" take out the hulk. The incredible Hulk/Avengers 1&2 hulk would SMASH Thanos. In summary, Thanos is a pussy.

And then by a history-making miracle, we get the Snyder cut and realize it was superb version (4 hours and all - minus the weird singing as Aquaman leaves Bruce on the beach) and the CGI Steppenwolf was a beautiful masterpiece. The Deadpool character in Marvel was intended to be a spoof on the Deathstroke DC character so Deadpool was modeled after Deathstroke which means he’s the knock off character but for whatever reason a lot of people think that Deathstroke is a knock off of Deadpool which actually is the reverse Deadpool which is now the more popular character is actually came after.

Batman's background is way more complicated than that. He was trained by The League of Assassins and was next in line to be the replacement for Ra's Al Ghul (the League of Assassin's leader). Batman is more then just a human. He's highly intelligent in many different areas, he's pushed his body to the absolute peak a human's body can be, he's dedicated his ENTIRE LIFE to the identity of Batman, he IS Batman, he doesn't have an alter ego. Bruce Wayne is a mask that the outside world see's and even if he is out in the world as Bruce, he's actually still Batman, just Batman in disguise as a rich billionaire playboy. He doesn't have a "normal life" or try to live a normal live like other hero's do. He IS Batman. His sole purpose is to make sure no kid goes through what Bruce Wayne did. He is a protector. He has also master every martial art on the planet, created his own and perfected it, he has trained a few Robins, he is the worlds greatest detective, his will power is insane, he's a master escape artist. Hell his mind is so crazy strong that if he gets brainwashed or possessed, he has trained his mind to have a back up of his personality that can take control of his body again. So yeah, there is a human under the suit true, but that doesn't matter. Batman is still Batman.

Well, sorta. He didn't redo the whole movie. He just finished what he started, and shot extra scenes to pull it all together. It was because of his original footage that WB was already trying to get rid of him because it was 4 hours long before he left the project. In my opinion, if Disney/MCU ever had the chance to score Snyder in the director's chair, then there is ONLY ONE option/project that is appropriate. Give Snyder the entire Age of Apocalypse Marvel story Line and let him LOOSE. Negotiate a fair wage for a multi-movie project arc; yes, absolutely. But seeing what he did with THIS post apocalyptic DC World....the Age of Apocalypse in the Marvel comics would at least be visually epic in his hands. Since MCU is so fond of their uber convenient Multiverses, Snyder doing THAT universe' story arc is perfect.

They would have not won. Darkseid is extremely powerful. I mean very powerful. He would run circles around Thanos easily and effortlessly.

This kind of film will never get made again. Zack Snyder finished almost the entire film but WB wanted it rewritten to be funnier. Then he stepped away from it when his daughter killed herself. WB took the film, thought it wasn't funny enough to compete with Marvel, cut huge chunks out of it and did reshoots with a bunch of jokes. When the fans found out how different the original was going to be, there was a petition to release Zack Snyder's version. WB/HBO eventually agreed, gave him money to finish special effects and shoot the new scenes at the end with the Joker and Martian Manhunter, AND release it on streaming in the full four hours. It's wild.

Joker tricks Superman in to killing Lois and their baby, and then Superman turned evil. In another version Darkside brainwashed Superman and then he sent him to take over the planet. In Superman the Animated series they covered the version with Darkside to some extent.
