Leo: Because I'm tired of it year after year after year after year having to chose between the lesser of who cares? Of trying to get myself excited about a candidate who can speak in complete sentences. Of setting the bar so low, I can hardly look at it.

Trouble is there's plenty of complacency within the electorate itself. Look back over the last couple decades, you'll see that Congress as a whole will routinely get a public approval rating of maybe 35-40% at best, and yet with invariably every election, that same congress then experiences about a 60-70% incumbency victory. People are easy to let their negative opinion about politicians be heard when a pollster comes calling, yet seem to put little if any thought into the next election.

One of the greatest TV shows ever produced. This scene shows how much Leo believed in Jed, and plays into what Toby says later on, Don't vote for the guy who's gonna win, vote for the guy who should win. This show is so relevant in today's political climate.

Yes, the KZbin captions are notoriously unreliable. They remind me of the scene from Night Court when the Court was in session while noisy construction was done on the deck above them, so they're shouting to try get heard. The district attorney called a defendant a "streetwalker", and the judge heard "meat locker."

Pretty cool (yea, I'm a boomer). Leo first verbally attacks Jed, then he shows his belief in him and helps Jed realize why he is running for office.. And, later in the series, Leo was one of the few people who had the gravitas to argue with the President on equal terms.

Actually, in one episode, Josh says that Leo's "Boston Irish". In a later episode, the president refers to him having come from Boston.

@@davidball549 Yes, this is a continuity error on the show. In at least 2 episodes, they refer to Leo as being from Chicago, including one where Leo refers to himself and Babish as being "men of Chicago". It's not unusual for a show spanning 7 seasons to have continuity and other errors. TWW had quite a few.

@@flyboy152 Sorkin didn't care about continuity. He said his perspective was always story. If a story line worked, it didn't necessarily matter if it kept continuity. For instance, in season 1, there is a fire burning in the Mural Room fireplace. In season 2, the flue has been shut for a century. Also in season 1, Zoey was 19 (Leo has the line "She's 19, he's 21" when he finds out that Zoey asked Charlie out. But in season 2, during the MS story line, Zoey is 17.

The captions are not the CCs provided with the original show. They’re KZbin’s crappy algorithm of trying to caption on the fly, often with hilarious results. You should watch some Downton Abbey clips. British accents are just too much for it.

It's because of how we stupidly choose candidates. The primary system forces Republicans to run to the right and Democrats to run to the left to attract their key primary voters. Then they have to do an about face to try to capture centrist voters during the general. We could solve this with ranked-choice voting, get rid of the primaries, and letting all interested candidates run in the general and use our ranked choice voting system to choose the best candidate.
