Sinéad O'Connor left the tour suddenly,. Gabriel sought the youthful Cole on the recommendation of his studio engineer Kevin Killen. Gabriel left an answering machine message for her at her apartment in San Francisco, and she immediately flew to Mannheim, Germany, for her only rehearsal with Gabriel, shortly before performing. I have seen Paula twice on her own tours.

@@pennyarmstrong8541 No I haven´t. Only recently came across the video of In your eyes from this concert and watched the whole thing. Stunning entertainment. I saw Peter Gabriel as lead singer of Genesis in Croydon back in 1971 or 1972. And then at Reading Festival where I lived for most of my life. But then he left Genesis and I didn´t follow his career except Sledgehammer was a big single in the UK. I am very thankful for You Tube in being able to see this concert. So elevating.

This singer knows what he is doing trying to get the attention of intelligent Africans around the world. They respect their mothers to an extraordinary degree. Today is Mother's Day and I am working online to help because the Matriarchal influence is important in society and has been for decades for many. Sad in the United States some have forgotten how important mothers are and the divorce rate in this area of the world is an indication of how some have been influenced by Godless actions. As a Mother who cares hoping women everywhere speak their mind put their children first in all their decisions so the world has hope.

Back in the day my husband went to every Peter Gabriel concert in the U.S. I became a fan about 25 years ago. We were channel surfing one night and came up on this concert! As soon as it was available we bought the "video". We later bought the DVD. I love this song in particular. Love Paula Cole in this song! Now I listen to it for inspiration as I create with clay. My husband passed away from an aggressive brain tumor a few years ago. The morning after he died I had pandora going on my computer. I just plugged in a couple genres and of all songs to come on it was "Solsbury Hill", his favorite. I got a severe case of goose bump and got such a euphoric feeling.

I was privileged to see Peter Gabriel twice in my adolescent years: first with the 'So' tour, and then again for the 'Secret World' tour. Both shows were absolutely mind-blowing I am proud to say that at the conclusion of his 'So' show, I may have spurred an encore performance. After the first encore number, I started chanting 'Biko' - and it didn't take long before the arena crowd followed suit. He may well have been planning 'Biko' as a second encore anyway: but in some moments of pride, I rather fancy that I originated the call for the immortal song. 7:32 7:32

When I was 2 years old, my parents went to see Peter Gabriel in Dallas, TX and took me with them. Of course I don't remember it but Peter Gabriel was my first concert ever. I got the chance to see him 20 years later on his latest tour, the So anniversary, tour at Red Rocks in Colorado. One of the greatest experiences of my life, climbing the mountains, sitting inside a canyon, dancing in the rain and singing my heart out to this song. God bless Peter Gabriel and his brilliance.

I saw this show live in Philly PA, Best concert ever! My son was born the next year. I had bought the concert on VHS tape, hooked the VHR to my stereo and blasted it! That shit was the bomb! We watched in many times when he was little. Fast forward to when Peter goes on the road with the Back to Front SO tour, I take my then 20 yr old son to see it in Philly. He loved it! I doubt if you'll ever read this, but if you do, thank you Peter for all the memories and fantastic music over the years! I just heard Panopticon today and it's great! Maybe you'll make another stop in Philly for this tour. If you do, you can bet my son and I will be in the audience!

He has helped me so many times I'm not going into it but I'm still here from listening to his songs when I wanted to give up many times He sings truth . In your eyes he hits it because you can see a person's soul through their eyes.

Souma Yergon, Sou Nou Yergon We are shakin' the tree Souma Yergon, Sou Nou Yergon We are shakin' the tree Waiting your time, dreaming of a better life Waiting your time, you're more than just a wife You don't have to do what your mother has done She has done, this is your life, this new life has begun It's your day, a woman's day It's your day, a woman's day Souma Yergon, Sou Nou Yergon We are shakin' the tree Souma Yergon, Sou Nou Yergon We are shakin' the tree Turning the tide, you are on the incoming wave Turning the tide, you know you are nobody's slave Find your sisters or brothers who can hear all the truth in what you say They can support you when you're on your way It's your day, a woman's day It's your day, a woman's day Souma Yergon, Sou Nou Yergon We are shakin' the tree Souma Yergon, Sou Nou Yergon We are shakin' the tree Changing your ways, changing those surrounding you Changing your ways, more than any man can do Open your heart, show him the anger and pain, so you heal Maybe he's looking for his womanly side, let him feel You had to be so strong And you do nothing wrong, nothing wrong at all We're gonna break it down We're gonna shake it down, shake it all around No no no no no no No no no no no no No no no no no no It's your day, a woman's day It's your day, a woman's day It's your day, a woman's day It's your day, a woman's day It's your day, a woman's day It's your day, a woman's day It's your day, a woman's day It's your day, a woman's day It's your day, a woman's day It's your day, a woman's day It's your day, a woman's day It's your day, a woman's day You had to be so strong You do nothing wrong, nothing wrong at all We're gonna break it down We're gonna shake it down, shake it all around

I was at that show in the SF Bay Area. I was in my 20's. I'm 55 now. Hands down the best show of my life. After the show I thought it would be OK if I died on the way home, because I had finally lived. I still feel that way. Peter was so ahead of his time. On his own time. A genius. Notice the lack of cell phones. Those were the days. With no phone to stare at, everyone was so present.

I was in Berlin some years later, in a velodrome - he used a similar stage (Growing Up tour). No bad seats. No preferred direction. The staff allowed us to bring a foldable chair inside, so my friend, who was suffering of bone cancer, could sit down where she wanted. Then the pain gripped her, and we sat back on back on the floor. He waved a kiss to her from his upside down bicycle. The folks in the audience had given her free view. It's not only the music, it's the consciousness about how to present your work and have eyes open to everyone! I never saw an artist like Peter Gabriel!
