I LOVE TED KORD AS THE BLUE BEETLE! And I hate how DC treated him. He and Booster Gold were so funny. DC even released a miniseries of them after he died, like they forgot to tell the writers, oops we just killed the Blue Beetle but we payed these people to write this story so we'll print it.

The Ted Kord Blue Beetle is not only the best out of all the Beetles but he’s an all around great character. When he had his own series after the Crisis event, he definitely got the love he deserved. The Blue Beetle and Booster Gold team up books were also a lot of fun and surprisingly well written. I will never forgot how DC managed to take a great character like him, kill him off, and then bring him back only to be relegated as a background character whose not even a superhero anymore. It’s down right embarrassing how DC treats Ted Kord these days. I’m just happy I found your video and saw that people like you haven’t forgotten how cool the Ted Kord Blue Beetle once was. Great video. Ted Kord is one of my favorite Charlton heroes right next to Caprain Atom and Question. He's both a tragic and fun character. It was really funny and entertaining to watch him and Booster Gold interact. Dan Garett's costume kinda reminds me of Lee Falk's the Phantom.

I love Ted. I tweet DC st least once a month to ask them "WTF!?" on this. They really haven't done too much with Ted since this video. He's still alive, which only worries me more, but he has also a supervisor/mentor figure to Jaime.

The Blue Beetle is like many of his contemporaries of the era. You don't see the Fly, Doctor Solar, Captain Atom, and Magnus the Robot Fighter. All of them hero's that never reached their full potential.

Sure, I love Superman, Spidey, Batman etc...but Ted (especially from the JL 1-60 run by Giffen/DeMatteis) was so overlooked...from Despero claiming Ted's mind was "second only to the Martians" to him figuring out Lord's plan before Bats did...

The next Blue Beetle series will surface soon enough. A movie is in the works, as there is also for Booster Gold, and a fresh series will feature Jamie Reyes and Ted Kord, and I would not be surprised if Dan Garrett shows up in some form or another. Keith Giffen is getting on a bit but after JLI then the Can't Believe/Formerly Known & JL 3000/3001 series, I feel there is probably a last hurrah of the JLI in him, maybe a maxi series or something, down the road to a bit to say farewell to that era.

Actually it was Steve ditko who created Ted Kord the second blue beetle

The original backups in Capt. Atom fascinated me as a kid in the 60s. I followed him into his own book. After the Charlton characters moved to DC... Well, I wish it had never happened. Better if those Charlton had stood on their own...

Ted Kord is the 3rd Blue Beetle. Police Officer Dan Garret is the first, Dr Dan Garrett is the second. Everyone keeps combining them into one character for some reason.
