Sometimes I just go on youtube, sit back and enjoy some of our amazing games and moments under The Boss. God we are so far away from it now. Money has ruined football. Basically, if your a first teamer of any premier league club now even a season unpicked, you will make life altering money. Players like Keano, Hughes, Robson etc earned top wages but they still knew they had to work their balls off to get another contract of equal or more value. Work ethic has taken a back seat. Earning 150k a week sitting on bench, breeds apathy.

stsrted following United 85 and really. thought we would win league 85-86 after winning cup that summer. won 13 & drawn 2 of first 15 in league still blew it. Following season Fergie took us over we were in relegation zone November, 87-88 good season as RU. Next 2 seasons were an utter disaster. Fans bayed for his blood and wanted rid. He won the FA cup in 90, cup winners cup 91, league cup 92 we could see he was building an empire now. Following United from 92-2012 was a feeling of consistency, invincibility. We either won league most times or ran the winners to the death. It felt like being a young child knowing that your Dad would always make things right, was always there, made sure you had everything you needed. We gorged on trophies year in year out. It was a feeling of total security and safety in the hands that this man SAF would always come good. It was an all encompassing aura that SAF and the team he put out each weak gave off. It's been gone for so long now but the memories are there forever. When he goes his loss will be too great. LEGEND

Hello Sir, I love hearing United fans from back in the day, I was born in 82 by 88 I was indoctrinated as a Man utd man from my uncle, the troubles stopped us properly getting over to many games. George Best created so many United fans here obviously in the 60s like my uncle. But i remember even then Liverpool winning a game made me sick and depressed lol the 1990 fa cup win, suddenly, as you know better than me, we took off. what if we hadnt won that FA Cup that year 1990, do u think we'd kept fergie? thankfully it worked out!GGMU
@anthonyclarke401629 күн бұрын
@@BelfastManUtdTherapy My man, hows things? Yes following United in the 80s was hard work. Especially as a kid. You know how easy kids switch sides to follow the team that's winning everything. I could never stop loving United. I started following them because of the large Irish contingent at the time. Frank Stapleton, Paul McGrath, Kevin Moran, Big Norm Whiteside and big Ron's last signing. Liam O'Brien. I hope you eventually got over when things calmed down up North. Don't remember the 85 cup too much. As for the 1990 FA cup, that is a great question. Would he have survived? 88-89 &89-90 were abysmal in the league. I for one called for his head many times. Suppose the club and board could see something we couldn't. Remember waking up the morning of the final and BBC had coverage all day from 9 or 10am. Was literally like Christmas morning, the excitement. To see them winning the replay during the midweek after was one of my greatest United memories. Instilled believe, hunger and together with the youth coming through the academy at the time was a perfect mix. We were spoiled for 20 plus years. It really hurts to see the current position we are in. Suppose we are being punished for the many glorious years we witnessed. Peace lad

@@BelfastManUtdTherapy PS Georgie Best was outrageous. So many of the older generation who watched him in the flesh were mesmerized. We are fortunate to see clips on YT. Talked in the same breath as the best ever and right fully so. . Certainly United's greatest ever player and by far the greatest to grace pitches in England. What would he be like if he played in the modern game where forwards are protected at all costs, pitches like snooker tables. Best was absolutely butchered throughout his career by some ferocious defenders which was actually encouraged. What if he didn't suffer from the demons inflicted on him by alcoholism and what if he trained regularly to prepare the best he could. So many things went against him yet he is stilled revered as part of the famous holy trinity.

@ianmcdonald30532 ай бұрын
No ones forgot, we lived through it and it was a different era, also it may of taken time but he had a lot of credit in the bank with what he achieved in Scotland and the squad was lacking but they still played good football, there was no massive space left in midfield, we knew if a midfielder made a mistake the defence could handle it and if that failed they had the keeper to beat unlike todays squad! No we dont forget it took Sir Alex time because the idiots that insist Ten hag deserves a new contract and a third season keep telling us lol
