1995. Winner of an Outstanding Cultural Music/Dance Program Emmy Award. I was 25 and worked on this show and won an Emmy. It was (and still is) incredible. Major kudos goes to Glenn DuBose, who conceived of the idea for PBS's Great Performances series and who made his brilliant idea come alive. At some point in the concert at Damrosch Park, I can be seen scrambling around the stage, with extra batteries and film for the cameramen. Good times, man, good times.

Thank you for making this available. This is balm for the Jewish soul. It is also interesting because at the beginning, to me at least, Maestro Perlman is not so comfortable, he hides a little bit behind his Stradivarius. Then he relaxes and enjoys himself playing, eating, it is really a beautiful thing, now he is home.

I remember watching this series on PBS in the late 1990's or early 2000 and leaning about Klezmer music and became hooked on it and have collected many CD's of Klezmer and other Jewish music.
