My grandfather (who, among other professions, was a session pianist and played with a bunch of popular jazz musicians throughout the 40s and 50s), listened to Django Reinhardt growing up and introduced the music to my dad, who introduced the music to me. I'm probably not going to have kids, but when I have nieces or nephews, I'll make sure they hear this.

Tony Iommi's initial inspiration - there was a very strong Jazz influence evident in much of Black Sabbath's discography. Air Dance, Breakout, Wicked World, Sweet Leaf immediately spring to mind.

Fantastic soloist, of course, but hardly anyone ever mentions what a sublime rhythm player he was. He carried the whole band. I don't do solos, but I managed to get some musical success out of studying his rhythm playing like mad.

He used the four fingers sorry, but After his fire accident only two could move separatly , for solos, and he could move a little bit the two other "handicaped" wounded fingers just to fit all the crazy rythms he played, there are few videos, but you will see he use alternatively two fingers for solos and four fingers four rythm, and that's more impressive in a way.
