I do not know why this music may want dance and cry at the same time. I guess at age 77 the music brings back so many memories of my parents and aunt and uncles and a time full of love and family. I miss it so and this music tears at my heart bringing me both joy and sadness. Halivi.

THIS IS WITHOUT A DOUBT THE BEST PART OF THE PBS SPECIAL, WITH ALL THE "BIGGIES" OF KLEZMER MUSIC, AND ITZHAK PERLMAN JOINING THEM, NO LIE. I used to watch this when it first came out in '95 with my dad and grandpa, (though not Jewish, my grandpa was actually Romanian Orthodox). I hate to sound biased, but to me, it literally screams both "HAVA NAGILA" and "TRAIASCA ROMANIA!" (Long live Romania!!!) Thanks for the upload! Fond memories.....

we have 52 dialects of Yiddish in the world and 16 in old USSR - so do not judge musicians from another countries - this is not good for everybody !
