I've heard sixpence non the richer sing their song live, and it sounded nothing like the studio version. This IU's live version comes very close to the studio version just like the original. You gotta have a real sweet voice like IU's to pull this off.

For me, IU is a singer who really had a good emotion in her voice/singing. Don't care what languages she sings, I can relate to whatever song she sings. Just like I enjoy her Korean songs every day and I don't understand Korean at all, so same case in here, I enjoyed her performance here :)

As a fan of IU, I realized that IU lacked in her pronunciation, but it's okay, she's Korean, she grew up that Korea as her 1st language, and she still have a long way to learn how to sing in English song better than this. And if you noticed, she performed this on Nov 19, 2008, just 2 months from her debut... We can't deny that IU sang it beautifully since she was just a debutant. And if you searched IU performed in English song nowadays, she improved so much. Believe me :)

I speak English but I cant sing to save my life so having good pronunciation doesn't really impress me. Ive listened to the original version long before these covers were made and I'll say that IU's voice really captures the feel of the song, so sweet and innocent. Her voice has an undescribable quality that is so special and pleasant to listen to plus she's continuing to improve her English to make her covers sound even better. She makes singing seem so effortless. Wish I could sing like her.
