V AMAZING acting out all these emotions of fear happiness sorrow furious, in a 5 minute music video is crazy because we see actors failing to act out a single emotion in an 1 hour long episode but here he is, the versatility is showing 😭They they forgot what they were running from because through the lens of the camera, they were able to just love and enjoy life until the reality caught up to them and they were taken away ICRY 😭😭😭😭❤❤😢😢

V's character is blind in one eye... it's why she touches that eye when first looking through the camera, and covers the other eye at the end(so he won't see the end). Protecting him, while she faces it head one. And it took Me more than one viewing to notice this. They both appear to be Mute... to have "No Voice" in their world or in their life/futures.

Kim Taehyung, V, is Korea’s national treasure. He and IU are good friends we found out in her show Palette. They sing beautifully together. They have great chemistry as you can tell from this MV. He recently came out with his solo EP called Layover, it’s not KPOP. The EP has a jazzy R&B vibe to it. It’s an all kill listen and he made 5 MVs for this EP. His singing style is very soothing, relaxing, and calm. You can say it’s minimalistic. V’s live performances for LAYOVER are fantastic, worth watching. As a korean.. I think "the cube" means some "frame" things in Korea society. (like as the gap between the rich and the poor, gender conflict, generational conflict) Because of the "square" is even used as the word "frame" in Korea. And IU wants to win this "frame" to herself and wants to show wacthers for "good trumphs over evil".

One detail is that in the MV IU is deaf and V is blind in one eye, the cube represents the discrimination that the two suffered as what the director said, although I don't quite understand why it seems like an apocalypse, I was only able to rescue that from what I understood🫵🏻💗

The cube 'Nemo' represents the discrimination towards marginalized people (symbolized in IU being mute and Taehyung being blind in one eye). They stayed together till the end with their love sustained, free from all oppression and pressure from society. LOVE WINS ALL!

IU can't hear and V’s one eye can't see ,in the end IU covered the good eyes of Taehyung so he won't see the horrible ending in front of them ,im Stuck at how a single tear from Taehyung’s good eye traced its path down his face and IU’s hand gently covered his eyes, It's as if he found a momentary refuge in her touch, offering a subtle relief from the overwhelming sensation ... AH I CAN'T STOP CRYING 😢😢When IU sings, there are people dressed in black clothes in the crowd who are not congratulating them, but pointing fingers at them. I have watched the mv numerous times. I have watched so many reactions. It doesn't get any easier, and I don't think it ever will. Everything is so beautifully done, but what's behind it is so ugly. Hatred and discrimination are everywhere. The mv touches the deepest of your soul. Cry away. Let's bring back love and let it prevail.

Such a beautiful and emotional video featuring amazing acting and vocals that makes the experience so personal. I really do hope that Tae & IU do other projects together both film and music as they have great chemistry and when he was on her show their voices also blended so well. Also at the end it was pointed out by someone that he can hear what is coming but she can't, while she can see what is coming but she covers his good eye so he can't. Both cry at the same moment though and from the same left eye. Also the right side of his face seems to have burn scars so maybe he had encountered a cube before but got away at the last minute. This cube was relentless in its pursuit and even seemed to change size so it could come into the building. Earlier when it was flying overhead you could tell no way it could fit inside those hallways. I also noticed the cube waits for them to stop fighting and accept their fate. If you notice there are no other people so obviously no person is able to meet the criteria this cube holds that would allow someone to survive. The camcorder that kept showing a better reality, was giving us the viewer a happier version of the events. They both rise in the air together, their bodies still solid, while the reality is that they have been turned to ash. At the top of the camcorder right before it turns off you see ash particles in the air. I also loved how the clothes landed together on the pile. Again all of this symbolizing that even though they seemingly lost to the cube, it couldn't destroy their love for each other. They stayed together in life and death, so indeed their love did win. I can't get enough of this MV, the acting is Oscar level and combined with the award worthy vocals and lyrics it's both heartbreaking but also heartwarming that at least they went together.

Maybe check out Slow Dancing music video by V. Here is some extra info about the music video... Director Um Tae Hwa released a guide explaining the MV and gave 4 Key points. First, the "cube" signified the discrimination and oppression that are prevalent in the daily lives of the main characters. Second, the "camcorder" represents the "lens of love," an important "device" that allows us to look at the beautiful things in the world beyond the internal or external appearance of the characters. Third, IU and BTS V became the main characters in a "survival story of a dystopian worldview of someone who cannot speak and sees the world only through his left eye." Despite the difficulty, feeling hurt and exhausted, they relied on each other despite "cube" and tried to overcome it in the end. Fourth and last, the "wedding dress and tuxedo" symbolize the "fruit of love." At the end where they are seen rising in the air, it depicts that they are finally "free to fly away from all kinds of oppression and pressure." Have a wonderful day💜

The director did say viewers can have their own interpretation. The camcorder serves as a filter and allows imagination to roam freely. Everything is imagination through the camcorder. Reality resumes when you see their wounds and tattered clothes. In the end, the two of them are seen ascending to a better place through the camcorder, while they are eradicated in reality. So sad. So beautiful. So brutally real.

IU's voice sounds majestic and their acting felt so real. Glad that IU asked Tae to shoot the MV with her. They have been close friends for years. They filmed this 1 week before Tae's military enlistment. Tae was also shooting his Compose Coffee commercial during this time. Because when one of his close friend, Park Seojoon (actor) and Producer Na (from Jinny's Kitchen, one of Taehyung’s show) visited him on the set of his Compose Coffee commercial shooting, Tae said that after the shoot he will go directly somewhere to film another one. Both of them are well respected in South Korea for being true to their craft and their kind personalities. These two were given National Titles by the Korean Media and netizens. IU "Nation's Sweetheart" and Tae "Nation's Treasure". Can't wait to see them acting together in a series. Thank you for reacting to IU's song.
