I really liked your video. I share your point, probably Townes was bi and he somehow liked her in a way that Beth was unable to express. Maybe Beth was really smitten with him but she didn't dare to be in a serious relationship with him.

Thank you! Yes, I believe she was but it's clear she loved him while he just liked and admired her. And he couldn't act on it at the hotel anyway, because, well, she was still too young. Nevertheless, it's obvious they care for each other, whether it's more platonic on Townes part and this ship will always be one of those 'what if' ones.

Well, in the show it's not 100% confirmed that he was gay. I mean, yeah, he had a boyfriend, but bi people exist. In the book there is no Rogers, so there is also that. However, in the book Townes/Beth are even more platonic and it's even obvious it's just Beth having a crush. I don't blame her, though. I would have too.
