Thanks for reaching out! Normal UO is around 0.5 ml/Kg/hour! So if the UO is persistently less than that, we need to take actions.

Sir, i hav3 a low urine output even drinkin plenty of water still my urine is low. But when i drink 600-700 ml ofwater in the morning after waking up and lying in my bed side ways after 45 minutes to 1 hour im starting to urinate more and after urinating i drink a half cup of water and still 30 minutes im urinating more with pale color. Sir, What is my problem?

ADH action can also cause low urine output, aside of decreased renal perfusion. Since ADH release is triggered by hypovolemia (correct with isotonic solution) and/or serum hyperosmolarity (correct with hypotonic solution), how to differentiate between them in a patient with decreased urine output, in order to determine correctly the fluid we are going to administer?

It all depends on what causing ADH to be elevated? We will need history and physical exam to help find out if ADH elevation was appropriate or inappropriate? As you know ADH can be elevated in volume depletion or volume overload as both cause intravascular volume depletion. I would highly recommend you watch my video series on hyponatremia that will be released starting today, it will clarify all the confusion regarding ADH
