I've missed your podcast discussions!! Happy Holidays Ivan! Wow, Seattle is a ferry boat ride across the water to Bremerton, Bill lives pretty close to me. I also play with my dogs until the end of their lives, recently I lost a dog to degenerative myelopathy and as Mimi progressed in her disease we went from mobility to wheels and then tug with me on the ground when she finally lost the use of her front legs, soon after she took her last trip to the vet. I throw training into the play, a couple minutes here and there. I also talk to my dogs 2:05:40 and understand the look on your face, how we talk with our dogs is so hard to explain to people, it's understood but on a different level, kind of like two people interacting who speak different languages but can still catch words understood by both and also body language too plays a part. The force free has been screwing up the dog training community for at least 10 plus years ago, Leerburg had mentioned it on their website and I've also seen videos on that subject on YT I believe longer than that. This was an excellent discussion. Thank you!

One of the things I love to do when I am walking pass someone that has name tag ( store, hotels, airports, conferences…) is “ Hey Dave , how is going?” Or “ what’s up Dave” and keep walking. Facial expressions become priceless. 😂😂😂

I am new to dog training so forgive my ignorance. I am not sure I understand. When training the out command in Ivan's program, he teaches "out" with a leash pop, then positive with play interaction. Isn't that the definition of nepopo? Or does he mean that he is positive only because he doesn't use ecollars.

Nepopo leash pop and then announce the command and then reward which is backwards conditioning while ivan uses forward conditioning "signal wait 3 seconds pop if they don't out".

@@toddjensen9922I highly recommend his “out” video. Although how it’s described is correct, the break down of the why and how the dogs feel about it gives you so much valuable and deep understanding. I’ve watched it at least 4 times.

Nepopo is just a name for a group of dog training ideas laid out in a methodology Nepopo isn't a new invention it's just a brand name for a system of dog training that existed for a long time if that makes sense

What do you guys do when you know the client won't do what needs to do to have obedience for example?And off course the dog will never be happy with those people. They simply choose the wrong species to take home. I am almost starting to recommend lizards for some of them
