Your un educated just by the way you started this video!! Its bot ment to be used to shock your dog and correct behavious its to communicate with him!! You dont use the coller to punish behaviours ever u use it to overlay with obedience and also to keep them SAFE off leash should they make a desision that might hurt them!! Yea people shouldnt use them unless they take the time to educate themself on use of an e coller but its the best way to give your dog OFF LEASH FREEDOM AND KEEP THEM SAFE with the correct training a d guidance!

Its crazy how you find answers when you really look for them. I have an awesome Pitbull I took over when he was about a year old. highly intellegent but he has aloooot of energy and drive. he comes off very strong but he is sweet. doesnt play with his mouth on humans, sits and wont eat without you saying good boy..but he has done the exact thing this dog does with the jumping and licking at the chin/face area..he would literally launch himself and I would catch him in mid air..problem was he would also do it to guests so I trained it out of him (mostly) and I started to get him to do it only when I asked for it. I never took it as aggressive but I can understand that other people might.

So, based on how I interpret it. You use the e-collar that is likened to how you teach a dog on the leash (Negative reinforcement & Postive Punishment)? and paired with classical conditioning? Example: Assuming the dog knows the command down with leash pressure. You can use the e-collar to pair it with the leash pop/pressure when helping your dog to go down? So, you say "Down" and then if dog will not go down you lightly pop the leash and ecollar at the same time? So, word first (Down) and then turn pressure on if the dog will not do said command? And then the level of the ecollar is based on the dog's behavior? If I got your point right, it would really make sense that teaching conditioning is really not necessary. Since, we are already pairing the foreign pressure (ecollar taps) with the leash pops. And for a couple of sessions you can slowly take off the leash and the dog will know that the e-collar tap is the same as the pop on the leash? I also observed that most of dog training is just really being consistent, first session can mean that all the dog's response to the ecollar even if it's low level is confusion. But as you continue and stay consistent with it for example teaching the dog to come and add ecollar/leash pop if he doesn't comply for over a period of time, and he will not be confused anymore. So, I guess people saying that their dog is not responding well to the ecollar is that they just quit too soon? Overall sir Ivan, what you're saying is, you are against using e-collar before the command and simultaneous with the command? And you're agreeing that the e-collar should only be used by saying the command first and then use it if dog will not do said command as negative reinforcement & Positive punishment)? Ecollar-And then Command= Is BAD Ecollar-Simultaneous with Command= Is BAD Command- And then Ecollar= Is GOOD Is this what you're saying sir? Thank you for explaining, I just need to understand it from a 1st grade level hahaha!

This was ultimately embarrassing. I got second hand embarrassment from her immaturity and disability to agree to disagree. “A person who has to be heard, is a person who is unsure.” I don’t understand how she thinks you are trying to ego check her therefore she does everything but answer the simple questions that are truly just asked in order to elaborate on both sides to gain perspective, not to one up or put down the other. Her laughs to mock the seriousness of your genuine questions was her way to cope and deface the initial point. Your patience is a perfect example of what I’ve seen you bring to your training abilities as they are the characteristics of the human you must be. The proof is in the pudding whether she agrees or not. There are facts and then there are beliefs. Respect to you Ivan.

The DPO program was under the auspices of the SV in cooperation with the Bundespolizie. Johannes was instrumental in bringing this internationally recognized police dog certification program to the UScA. The program went south after the Bundespolizie became disenchanted with the SV breeding program because they were no longer routinely producing dogs of good character for police work. Up to the regional level, the program had three levels that more or less corresponded to SchH 1 through 3. At the national level there were only two levels WPO1 and WPO2. WPO stood for Welt Polizie, World Police Dog. I can’t remember the exact year that the Bundespolizie terminated the DPO program, but it was a sad day.

That Ivan's part from 13:30 is priceless and soothing for many dog owners: even His dog can decide some day to put him to a sidetrack. That's the matter of world, people, nature and dogs as well. Nobody perfect but God.😎🙏 Ps: I made screenshot clip out of it.

In my opinion I think we can make the analogy likened to a time bomb? The later you disarm it, the faster and stronger the sound gets? Like from "tick... Tick... Tickk" per second to "tit! Tit! Tit! Tit!Tit!" Every millisecond? Correct me if im wrong here but that's how I understood this wonderful discussion 😄

I know I will not get your full picture and ways of how TWC works 100% but you have been the most useful and well explained information out there. Thank you sir Ivan!❤ And, btw I'm trying to earn and will soon get your possession games and chase and catch. Bless you sir for giving us these gems!🙏

Hearing what your saying is amazing, but wouldn’t you look at a slip, prong and e-collar to be classed as a heighten way on engagement and communication also using verbal and praise and threats through verbal markers, And rewards, cant you use both at the same time ?

Thank you Ivan for taking your time to have the conversation with Jenny about her views on force free training. My opinion is that she is attempting to apply “inclusion of all dogs” to dog training. Jenny avoids any desire of measuring the ability of the dog to accomplish the task.

I am currently competing in mondioring, with a dog about to go for his level 3 title. In my opinion, the defense of handler exercise is very doable, no matter the difficulty of the scenario without the need to give the dog a cue. Since the hit can only happen after the non-hitting decoy is 3 meters away, the second decoy backing away is a cue to my dog that he should start looking at the decoy who is next to me or, if the second decoy is hidden, to start looking for that decoy. He has yet to miss a hit and only bites the wrong decoy because he's blowing me off or bites the right decoy but before the hit, because he's amped and doesn't want to wait. So we spend a lot of time working on him not biting early. I've seen top level competitors lose the exercise because they were caught cuing the dog, or the dog not biting because he missed the cue. To me, the hit is the cue, there's no need for a secondary cue. BTW, I thoroughly enjoyed your conversation with Nake, I've trained with him a couple of times when he's come out to the Bay area. Hopefully you'll be speaking with other mondioring people. Welcome back to the sport!

I enjoyed your conversation. Ivan, when you spoke about trainers not understanding negative reinforcement and that many feel negative reinforcement is abusive. Perhaps you should reflect how wild canines instinctively use negative reinforcement to learn and perform better. Thanks for passing on your thoughts and knowledge to people practicing dog training. You have significantly improved my relationship with my Belgium Malinois!

I love this. I have to be honest, I find shaping the muzzle a bit of a drag -for some dogs it can take weeks before they’re totally comfortable in it for long periods and it’s a very boring thing to train. I’ve just been doing it like that because that’s all I know and have been told. I can see that you are initially keeping the muzzle on your dogs for short periods and then playing with them for a while and I guess the length of time they wear the muzzle will gradually increase? You appear to be only verbally correcting them for trying to get the muzzle off, but say you had a new dog that had to be conditioned to the muzzle this way, but didn’t have that strong relationship with you yet, would you progress to a physical correction if they persisted in trying to remove the muzzle?

I don't think Herr Helmut Raiser is all that. When he worked in the kennels he used to beat them, even so hard that a dog lost his teeth. 'Fear creates respect'. No, fear creates fear and your dog will work for you out of fear. That's not a healthy relationship. I have a doberman and let me tell you, he is not 'ruined' and the breed is also not 'totally death'. But you need to have a doberman to know that.

Omg!!!! Im so dang excited!!! I cant express this enough and i truly wish i could be in your personal certification classes right now! I just got your Cornerstone Collection courses and im not even through the 1st hour of your chase and catch 2.0 video and immediately once i switched to a ball and did exactly what you said, my 5 month old puppy whom i got a few days ago is bring the ball back to me to keep playing with her vs every other day and other toys that she would possess and keep from me. Also, thank you for your video on which toys to get! I didnt realize, for florida, i got all the wrong toys due to sand and slobber. I truly hope that one day i can almost be as good as you!! This is my first belgian malinois and im so in love. I got so lucky!!! I truly hope to meet you one day and thank you!!!!

I truly love the way you train. I'm trying to absorb every lesson from you that I can. I just got my first Belgian malinois and she's 5 months old. For the first time I'm starting to identify when she's motivated vs when she isn't in the mood to play. She is the best dog I've ever owned and I'm truly trying to make sure our bond continues to grow stronger and stronger throughout the years. I can't wait to be able to join your certifications one day. I love my girl so much. We live in florida too. Nothing means more than my pup enjoying herself and us learning together the right way.
