i feel like what IVE is doing with this song is increddible. Most outside perspectives of kpop will think "oh that music is tacky, is poor quality... but ironically people still call it art" which is what the word Kitsch means.... like they are reclaiming the word that sort of makes fun of kpop stans and kpop because of its eccentric style. which is why having that abrupt chorus in the middle of beautiful melodies and vocals is genius for this song. Love this song and these girls so much, Rei ate with that hair

I think it makes sense to flip the song with so much cuz the title of the song is Kitsch. I feel like that part is meant to be over-the-top and gaudy. The song is about doing what you want and being nineteen and having that kind of bliss and you just turned into an "adult" aka think you're "sexy". So I think it's a layered song tbh for a pop song.

The MV visuals remind me of Love Dive the contrast between the kinda collegiate inspired outfits vs the fancy fashionable individual outfits. Then you have the black and denim for Kitsch while Love Dive had the cropped white shirts and baggy pants in the dance break. I love the balance between IVE's cute version and their edgy version when the chorus hits as they have that demonic emoji outline in the background as they basically try to live their best lives despite the mindless hate they receive. And also, in a way, the chorus sounds like "kids of the 90s" and I think the clothes go really well with the 90s, especially the baseball jackets?
