It’s crazy how many times the other members have had different outfits and opportunities that are completely ignored. Like Yujin literally mcs as much as Wonyoung. Has shown up to the red carpet in a different dress more extravagant dress than the others yet you never see viral videos about her “favoritism.” Yes Wonyoung would have had a whole hate campaign if she wore Liz dress. Liz is also only mentioned when it’s about dragging Wonyoung. This girl has had an amazing year OSTs, collabs, solo schedules but people still only mention her only when it pertains to Wonyoung. Honestly this is why, although I’m a huge fan of the group and their music, I love watching their content, I stay tf away from the fandom. I just don’t really want to associate with it. Yes all fandoms can be or are toxic in a way but whenever I see people hating on a member for basically nothing I know I’m in the wrong side of the fandom, BUT with IVE’s fandom I just run into that issue 10x sooner than I do with other fandoms of my favorite groups. It feels unfair that only dives are labeled as toxic, especially when this judgment is based on TikTok. If you're a real fan, you'd know the level of hate these girls receive from other fandoms on that platform. For the sake of my mental health I deleted TikTok for a while. Since 2022 dives are well aware that IVE faces extreme hatred from other fandoms on TikTok. To give you an example a few days ago, someone uploaded a video praising Heya as a high-quality MV that deserved to win. However, a certain SM fandom attacked IVE and Heya, forcing the comments section to be closed. This gives you an idea of the level of hate IVE receives. K-pop fans enjoy pitting these girls against others, accusing them of being rude by evil editing malicious videos and dragging them saying they’re just "coworkers," simply because they feel threatened by a non-Big4 group being a potential threat. I won't deny that some akgaes and dives are toxic but you're underestimating the international hate campaign against IVE, there's a reason why sadly the girls struggle to grow internationally and it’s because of this targeted hate.

I'm not a DIVE (though i listen to IVE), but i agree with what you said. My main problem with all of this is not even IVE, it's Starship. I hate Starship as a company with all my soul and i mean it, we simply could avoid any type of pitying between the girls or hate if the company was adamant on protecting them, but sometimes it seems like they do things on purpose for everyone to either hate Wony or be so obsessed with her to the point of tearing the other members down. I'm not a dive, but I do really enjoy IVE's music and think the members are awesome. But the few times I scroll on instagram (which contains a fair amount of kpop) and come across an IVE video or a Wonyoung video, the comments are all the same... and you perfectly summed it up. I mean, what did I expect, it's instagram. But it's not because we're used to instagram being full of toxic comments that we cannot find it outrageous, it shouldn't be normalised. I recently saw a reel about Liz at a recent award show I believe, and she looked wonderful, beautiful voice as well. However comments were mostly bringing Wonyoung down and I was really surprised, I thought the reel was about Liz, not Wonyoung. Moreover, every single time I see a Wonyoung reel, people constantly call her a "pick me" or such things, which I cannot understand. The more one is popular, the more hate the person gets I guess, but the hate this lady receives on a daily basis is truly spectacular. Amazing video as always, love the way you speak. I was thinking, do you consider making a video about Babymonster's Ahyeon ? I believe you haven't talked about it yet, and I think it would be interesting to have your perspective on the situation. This young woman seems to be going through difficult times because of hate. Since the release of their song "Forever", she got hate for doing too much on stage, then for being immature after seemingly loosing confidence... Her situation ressembles Wounyoung and Jennie's situation in a way: people are almost constantly comparing her to fellow member Rami, which I find ridiculous. Both are promising vocalists with a lot of potential at such a young age. I hope you consider this idea, with my greatest intentions. I consider myself a dive but i dont interact much with other dives other than on YT. Wonyoung is such a megastar that its hard not to compare the other members to her. As you become more of a fan of them you learn to really appreciate the other members too. But it's weird because you're kind of telling yourself, "Okay don't think about Wonyoung, we're thinking about (insert member) now." On the internet you can find "evidence" that support pretty much any narritve you want if you just cherry pick the ones in line of it, from "Wonyoung favoritism" "DIVEs sucks" "Gaeul or Liz fans are just pity her" "People just hate her for being pretty". I've been following IVE content Intensely for about two years now and I've almost never had a hate video recommended to me and my bias is Gaeul and i follow several fan acounts of her and I hardly see any comments of pity or comparisons with other members either. I just made a search in youtube logged out, and yes, it show videos of hate or the beef between members, specially for Wonyoung, but in any case they are the majority or the most popular ones. We need to keep in mind that the reallity we see is just a reflection of our own mind, we constantly filter the world through our own emotions and beliefs.

I honestly think that they don't know what to do with Gaeul because she isn't fitting into the role the way they want. I really love her because Rei has really started to gain popularity and Leeseo has become more hip hop in her style which also gave her more rap parts and Gaeul has been pushed to the side because of this. I think it's also not dives that are the main issue but basically anyone who doesn't like Wonyoung for whatever reason and recently have seen more and more Wonyoung AND Liz posts in reaction to this./ I don't know what is in IVE's future but I think they ned to either shift their positions or stick to it because Liz isn't getting the strong vocal belts because they go to Yujin, Rei is carrying more and more in her own way and Leeseo wants to rap more which she has said herself it was her request. Normally I don't say that because it's usually not true, but in this case I say it's not Dives dragging Wony for whatever reason. You're not immune either, as many times as you've mentioned Gaeul. You're right, but I'm looking at the group, not 6 individual members. IDFC is someone has only 2s in a song and another one 20s. In the end, the entire group is successful, regardless of who (supposedly) contributes how much. I just remember that in the beginning from Love Dive onwards it was claimed that Liz was ignored etc. That was just bad research because Liz was either #1 or #2 in line distribution.
