You are very welcome!... and the reason a lot of crafters don't list what they use or explain what they did in detail is that other KZbinrs steal their ideas and don't give them credit for it and pass them off as their own. It's not so much that they don't want to help others. I know because it's happened to me. So happy you liked it, Thank you! :)

Hello Dolores and thank you, I'm glad I could inspire you. As much as I would like to take credit for this technique, I can't. It's a very old crafting technique that's been around for years. However, I do believe I was the first to apply it to a bottle, here on KZbin lol. Thanks again! xo :)

Humm, I don't know why it didn't work all the way around. Make sure you do it in sections that way the glue doesn't dry before getting to it with the paint. I can't really think of any other reason why it wouldn't work for the whole bottle if you did get some cracks.

Absolutely beautiful and thank you for sharing your phenomenally beautiful talent's... I'm 63 and struggling with the choices of my future. I understand your situation and journey through this life... Our path must be chosen with the utmost Care. For it is one that we shall be suffering the consequences of our choice. I have been wandering through out the last 17 years ago as of March. The last of my grandson who would be 21 this year created a chain of events that never stopped until the last 3 years. I have been trying to find the will to live again, the desire is rather strong at this point and I wonder do I have the strength to pick myself up once more again... So many times and so many losses makes you look too deep within the soul it has been a long journey my friend and I wish you the best and I'm very excited to learn and have a new teacher in my life. Blessings make Creator keep you safe and healthy.

Im new to painting, crackling, and decoupaging. I enjoy your videos, very beautiful items. I cant seem to get the crackling technique down. I have tried on 3 different bottles and on one bottle it crackled in spots. On another it leaked. Not sure why it did that. The last bottle didnt even attempt to crackle. Help lol. Any advise would be great. PS. I also used a fan when drying. I used elmers white school glue. I also tried the elmers wood glue.
@DIYNoNeedToCry7 жыл бұрын
Hello Helena and thank you. I know what you mean because it happened to me recently lol, it's like, I know how to do this, why is it not working! Try this, as soon as you put the glue, put the paint over it and either set it in front of a fan or us a blow dryer on cool to dry it. I'm hoping that the glue starts to dry faster and causes it to crack. Also, use dry brushes when doing this. If the brush is wet it can change the consistency of the glue/paint. Oh and I hope you're using Elmer's glue, or any white school glue will work I think. Try it and see if that helps. If not I'm going to have to look into a new way of doing this. :)
@helenastoutes39477 жыл бұрын
DIYNoNeedToCry Thanks, I will definitely try again tomorrow. I though maybe when applying the glue, Im not applying thick enough and causing it to start drying before I can apply the paint. So I applied it thicker with the wood glue and thats when it leaked. Then I applied it thicker with the regular glue and nothing happened lol. I will get this down 😊 Thanks for the wet brush tip, I would have never realized that it would make a difference. I'll let you know what happens.
@DIYNoNeedToCry7 жыл бұрын

Loved your bottle! I tried myself but did not get the cradle unfortunately. I did apply a coat of glue and over it, a coat of colour but it did not come still. I would really appreciate if you could give me any tips for the crackle?
@DIYNoNeedToCry7 жыл бұрын
Hello, sorry to hear that. I myself have tried it lately and can tell you that it didn't work at first. I did realize however that the only thing I did differently the first two times was used a fan. So maybe that is the trick. Try again but t his time use a fan, hair dryer, or heat gun and see if it works. Test it out on a small spot first, so you don't waste paint. Also, Make sure you're using Elmer's white glue only. Hope it works this time. Let me know if it does and thank you! :)

I'm still working with the napkins. I've done 2 bottles and showed them to 2 of my friends who thought that they looked amazing, but I see all of the imperfections. like the napkin is wrinkled. lol... but anyways noone is perfect but you do such a wonderful job. 😍
@DIYNoNeedToCry8 жыл бұрын
That's awesome!! I bet they look amazing and don't worry about the wrinkles, it happens. Try using less glue before placing the napkin. You also want to spread it out evenly. Once you've placed the napkin... use a crumpled up piece of plastic wrap to lightly smooth it out. That's what helps me. Keep practicing and you'll get the hang of it! Thank you I had to practice so much and I still get wrinkles lol! I noticed that when I glaze it at the end, it hides the wrinkles that are left. :)

I gave the bottle a base coat and let it dry. ( The brown paint ) Then I simply placed Elmer's Glue on the bottle and while it was wet, I placed acrylic paint, in the color parchment, on top. Place it in front of a fan or use a blow dryer on the cool setting and that's it. It will crack. :)

I like it, it looks very nice with the glaze. I just started doing wine bottles. I had to go to a bar/restaurant to get some wine or liquor bottles. I put a paper Dallas cowboy star on a small Smirnoff bottle. It looks ok. Is it better to go up and down or side ways as your putting on the decoupage glue. Because I put it on side ways. It doesn't look bad. Also I used paper instead of a napkin. Just trying to practice.
@DIYNoNeedToCry5 жыл бұрын
When adding the glue before or after you've placed the napkin?

Hi today I tried the crackle effect bottle but still I couldn't get that perfection. But I m going to keep trying until I get it right. I won't give up. Pls can you tell me how do I use bottles which has some print on them, for eg the Teacher bottle ? I hope I am not bothering you. Thank you
@DIYNoNeedToCry7 жыл бұрын
Hi Maria, you are no bother. I love helping you guys out. For the crackle effect, after you have the base coat on, and it's completely dry, place the glue. Right after you place the glue, paint over it with the top color. The trick is to put it in front of a fan or use a blow drier on the cool setting to get those big cracks. Try that out and see how it goes. :)
@DIYNoNeedToCry7 жыл бұрын
For the bottle, I think you want to decoupage it but it has print on it? If that's what you're asking you can just paint right over that with the white paint and then add whatever napkin you want. Or you could paint around it and then decoupage around it so that the writing still shows. Is that what you meant?

@DIYNoNeedToCry7 жыл бұрын
Hi Maria, have you seen the new video I put out? I redid the crackle video because so many people had questions. Here is the link but to answer your question... yes. Prime the bottle with white, let it dry, paint the bottle with the color you want the cracks to be, let that dry and then add the crackle glue, then immediately apply top paint. Then put it in front of the fan or use a blow dryer on cool setting to let it dry. Please go watch the new video, it will help you out! This is the link, kzbin.info/www/bejne/nGbdpHVnlq59mNk

Lovely! But I can’t see what the paint dabs at the end did; it l looked like you were covering up some of the cracks? Or were you just dabbing random areas? Thx😀

it beautiful, did you sent it to your friend? the feel has an old Parisian feel to it. I feel like it is missing a antique silver, gold or bronze accent to it.

Thank you, I wrote to the person and am waiting for an answer. That is a really good idea, I can see that. This bottle is done but i'll remember that for a future one, thank you! :)
