Hi Oscar, stay true to your regular size. Pls note that initially the GH Bass loafers will b very tight when it’s new, no worries as it will stretch a lot over time.

Hi Ken. Thank you for the information! I’ve been thinking of buying a pair of GH bass weejun but I’m still confused about the sizing because my instep is relatively high. My normal shoes size for sneakers are eu 37-37.5 (Nike, adidas); eu 36.5 (Christian Louboutin). And for dr marten loafer(made in uk) is 37 but this pair of shoes is kind of loose for me. And for dr marten Oxford shoes is 37. I knew the leather will expand after wearing for a period of time. But I’m not sure whether us size 6.5 or 7 fits better for me. Appreciate it!

Hey Ken, I wear a size 11-11.5 in sneakers. Was looking at a pair of Allen Edmonds sports penny loafers. Should I get an 10.5 or 11? I have bunions on both feet which can make it awkward to buy shoes and in sneaker brands I usually have to size up to an 11.5. This can leave quite a bit of room at the end of the shoe.

U ve made a good choice in selecting the Allen Edmonds Sports Penny loafer becos it’s a very comfortable pair of moccasin driving shoe. They offer it in ‘D’ & ‘EEE’ width. Pls note that ‘EE’ width will b good for u; but they only offer it in ‘EEE’ which could b a bit tricky in determining the correct size spot on. Hence, I would recommend a Size 10.5 in ‘EEE’ width becos this Allen Edmonds Sports driver will definitely stretch overtime.

Hi Peter, Tq for your question. I recommend to buy a 7 UK . Initially , it will b tight but it’s the Bass Weejuns DNA that it will expand over time. Hi ken, I bought a solvair hi shine tassel loafer. I normally wear a US 12 (UK 11). They claim that their shoes run a half size too big so I ordered US 11.5. now the shoe fits nicely and feels comfortable but I get pretty strong heel slip. Some people on the internet say that the slip will reduce as the shoe wears in, is that true or should I get a smaller shoe that does not slip from the start? Thanks!

Hi mKami74 ! Congratulation on the Solvair tassel loafer ! Looks neat and great with denim. From experience, The slip won’t reduce as the shoe wears in. Hi 🤚🏽Tq for reaching out👍🏼. In view of a slight bunion on both feet, I suggest to take half size up to be safe as the leather utilise for the bass Weejuns is rather thick & stiff becos it’s from the back of the cow. The stiff leather will b abrasive as u wear it over time becos the Weejuns is an unlined loafers. In the event the Weejuns expands over time and it becomes loose on the back and starts to slip as u walk; u can always resort to the ‘Back Heel Grip’. Pls note that Bass Weejuns Whitney is slimmer in the width and with a beef roll as compared to the gents counterpart’s Bass Larson. I hope my feedback helps.

Logically speaking, it’s slightly tight at first because the tassel loafers spots a more pointy toe / A shape vs a rounder toe / B shape of the Penny loafer.

The length does not differ but the 10.5D will give the illusion to the human eye that it’s longer becos of the slim width .

I recently bought a size 10E in larsons because majority of reviews would say to go half size down. It was strange because the shoe fit fine on my left foot as a opposed to my right foot, but overall they were very tight and narrow for my liking and ended up reselling them. Would love your insight on the 10.5 because I have been going back and forth on it. thank you in advance!

Hi Ken. I normally wear a size US8 and so i bought the Uk7 Weejun Larson Bass and it was too big for me. Quite alot of heel slippage when i walked so i had to wear two socks for it to fit well. I went down a full size to UK6. Did i make the right decision?

Hi Jay, Tq for your enquiry. US sizing is normally made based on slimmer width like ‘D’ while UK sizing is the standard ‘E’ width. Thus, I believe that’s the reason the UK7 Weejun Larson is loose. U ve made the correct decision to move down to UK6 as it doesn’t slip from your heel. Pls keep in touch👍🏽

Hi MZ, My advice is that since u never ve a loafer previously, it’s best practice for u to bring your pair of socks and go to the store and try on the loafer to determine the correct fit. It’s not advisable to buy online if u haven’t try a loafer before. Try a size 40 when u have a pair of socks on. Cheers.

Hello Ken, I just had a Live Chat with a G.H.Bass online representative on their USA website. I want to order the men’s Weejuns Logan penny loafer. They suggested that I order the size 9. The Brannock sizing device says I am a size 9D, but I am an 8.5D In Sperry Topsider boat shoes. Size 9 in European espadrilles. I have a medium/narrow width with relatively high arches and am concerned about heel slippage. Is 8.5D in the Logan going to be too tight. Or should I stick to the 9D? Thanks for your expert advice!

I suggest the size 9D becos of the high arches on your feet. Also, the fitting for Sperry Topsiders is different becos it’s a much softer leather construction.

I’ll add my $0.02 as a fellow size 9. I measure 9.5 and just slightly smaller than 9.5 on the other foot. I wear a 10 in most sneakers. 9 in Allen Edmonds derby style boots and shoes. 9.5 AE Oxford on 65 last 8.5 Clark’s, Red Wing, Thursday Boots, Vans slip on. 10 most athletic shoes. Weejuns are super affordable classic shoe that works w/ all except a suit imo. A daily beater of a shoe that’s ideal for school, casual office attire or any situation where your outfit needs a step up from sneakers but you don’t want to wear your more expensive loafers or go full derby/Oxford.

@dennisrafi9375 Hi Dennis, Go for a Size 8D or 7.5E width. Note that ‘D’ width is a standard shoe width while ‘E’ width is a wider regular shoe width. Europeans and Americans will generally fit a ‘D’ width better while Asians tends to have a broader feet which fits the ‘E’ width better.

Hi Ken, I finally purchased a secondhand pair of G.H. Bass Weejuns in size 7.5 US D due to the favorable price. Upon trying on the shoes, I noticed that they fit snugly at the front of both of my feet. However, I experienced some discomfort in the heel area that resulted in a blister. Could this be due to the shoes being too long? I believe the fit is snug and downsizing might not be an option. Should I consider going for a larger size instead?
