1- edit everything - write, rewrite, grammar, syntax, etc. 2- make detailed notes for each novel (on one thing you know you can talk about and then relate this) 3- nail your ioc and iop & get better at public speaking 4- give in your best written drafts to your teacher for valuable feedback 5- master rhetorical devices 6- focus on author's choice (how the author crafts to make you feel or think) 7- read everything all the way through 8- don't be afraid to a wacky analysis if it's your own or a different idea, you will focus on out of box points and aspects that make your papers interesting (and fun to write) 9- confidence take a leap of faith and be confident in your analyzations.

It was the worst class I ever did. I remember when I did my written assignment my teacher gave me a score of 13/25 and then the examiner gave me 19/25. Every day my teacher would do anything to make it hell for me like trying to accuse me of plagiarism after I took her advice on adapting the concept from great sample essays. She says use the sample essays as a guide and then says what I did was cheating after I did her advice. I was largely screamed at a lot like for getting a question wrong and even personally attacked. I remember I couldn't sleep or eat much because of that class. For everyone here do not do that class you will regret it. Also those tips are useless because I tried all of them to the max and it didn't do much.

Are there any English books I can practice with (like contemporary classics) to improve me analytical skills
@IvyLilia Жыл бұрын
You could read anything to help improve analytical skills, you just need to make sure you are actively analyzing the text (rather than just thinking about the plot). For example, make sure you also focus on symbolism, themes, and motifs that appear. Some contemporary books (that I've read) that might be good for this include Lord of the Flies, 1984, Beloved by Toni Morrison, Life of Pi, The Handmaid's Tale, but there are many others. For popular contemporary classics you could even look up discussion questions / study questions online to help "test" yourself and improve your analytical thinking.

Can you make a video about IB math? I’m curious about how it works! And by exam, do you mean a test, or a written assignment graded as a test? I have to decide if I’m going to an IB school or an AP school in the next couple months.
@tyneskelton6045 жыл бұрын
She means final exam/test after your two years of IB that counts for at least 50% of your grade. Don't do IB it's not worth all the pain and suffering, but if you do make sure the school is meant for it. I'm saying this because IB requires a lot of resources and teacher support that some schools may lack. Good Luck!

Hi, I have a question, so I will be studying in an ib school this year and I am actually confused as to which laptop will be apt for the programme. It will be great if you could help me out in order to select a windows laptop or a Mac. My subjects are-- HL business, HL visual arts HL Hindi(I'm from india) SL English , SL math and SL computer science.

I've done IB for 6 years and to be honest I don't think it really matters... most of the students in my school use a macbook air but that is just a preference... however i don't do computer science so there is a small chance you might need softwares that may not be compatible for macs idk... maybe reach out to your school or computer science teacher to ask
