When I wanted to hike along the white trail in the Balkans, I wondered if I would be able to buy gas canisters consistently along the trail. However, I figured that I could get gasoline everywhere, so I searched for a gasoline stove and found this one. I used it for 7 weeks, nearly every day, and it never failed on me. Even when I ran out of rubbing alcohol, I could use the excess gasoline I had to light it. Another thing that I liked a lot is that I was able to easily estimate how much gasoline I had to take with me when hiking from town to town.

Not only that, but the fact it comes with a low sound and jet burner and also comes with a rebuild kit for 65 bucks is a darn good deal. i also bought one clone of it and it just came with the jet burner for 45 bucks a while back. I had to order a quiet burner and a repair kit for it and it cost me another 50 bucks. Sooo time to buy two more g43's. I like them more than my 123r's. Just wish it has a pressure relief valve like the 123's. just in case it gets too hot and blows up.

I love my Svea stove. It was given to me my an old scout master before he died. It works perfectly and it’s older than me!

Of course you upload this video a week after I bought it! Glad I did though, just got back from the field and I really enjoyed how much I could control the flame. I steamed some vegetables and it was really nice to be able to set it to low and not worry about having to pump it. I had no problem with the quite head but then again I'm not trying to boil water asap. I noticed the flame started to flurry just a bit, I think the low setting and a little wind allowed the tank to cool a little and loose some pressure.

I really enjoy your channel, and this was a great review, but I'm afraid I will have to quit waiting your channel. Every time I watch, I end up wanting another piece of gear that I really don't need. 😆 🤣 😂 Thanks for sharing, and God bless.

Looks like a pretty decent stove for the money. Although I prefer a separate fuel bottle, if I didn't already have both MSR and Primus multi fuel stoves, I'd definitely consider giving one of these a try.

Nice stove. I would like to see the quiet burner in action. A comparison between both burners.

Good video. It looks like a good stove to have on hand. I need to know how it burns gasoline, though.

I have this stove and I like it, it does everything the 123 should have done. But to be fare to the 123, consider it took almost 100 years to refine a stove to actually outperform a time tested stove. Mine never came with the standard burner head don't care as I bought it for the silent burner your boil time came out as fast as mine.. I made a doughnut out of welders felt and stuck it into the primer pit so I don't worry about overflow. This stove is shorter than the 123 but has a wider base and that's a plus. How long it will last is the question.

I bought a green one with the same burner top . I thought i wanted the silent burner top . I thought i ordered the silent burner top version . But i got the open blowtorch top in the mail . So i thought of doorknobs and deadbolts tin parts and looked at all the ads for silent burner bell parts . But you said the open burner is better for heating and cooking a pan of food . 😃

Yeah the silent burner on this one was horrible so its just as good, with the normal burner it works very well

So how does it have pressure in the tank? I know the Coleman ones you have to pump air in the tank to get it to go
@Iridium242
@Iridium242 Жыл бұрын
When you prime it before you light it, the heat builds up the pressure in the tank, once the stove is lit that keeps the pressure going higher so you get a nice clean burn

Stoves like these are called Self pressurising stoves. Just like the Svea 123, Optimus 8R, Juwel 34 etc.

What is the point of preheating it what does that accomplish?
@TOAOZuur
@TOAOZuur Жыл бұрын
Liquid on its own doesn't burn. It's the evaporated gas that is burning. Pre heating ensures that the burner head is hot enough to evaporate the liquid fuel into a gas. Another thing is creating pressure in the tank. Since this stove doesn't have a pump it relies solely on the pressure created by the expansion of the air above the fuel after in becomes hotter.

I wonder if it would work out with alcohol? That would make it possible to use the stove I'm Brasil since we have it for sale on the supermarket
