Hello Pete another great looking finish for sure . Kind of makes sense using a 1.6 in a mini gun , I’m more use to that tip size in a full size gun which I believe works well with Acrylics though I’ve not used acrylic paint for at least 20 years now so I don’t even know what the difference is between the old and new types if any
@peteshobbies53832 жыл бұрын
Hi Roger, yes it does make sense, you can obviously cut the output down if you want to but it's pretty good wide open, I've used it with a number of different clears and it works really well for all of them including the modern one's, I really enjoy using these gun's and there not loads of information about the pink cap one's, hopefully this helps when people are looking for one, cheers

Hey Pete, mate what a lovely looking pair of guns they look very well made and I'm quite liking the chrome finish on guns these days which is one of the reasons I like my W400. I've said it before about the DV1S that I love the gun but wouldn't pay the asking price for it as it's way to much money and from what I've seen here the Kiwami1 gives just as good of a finish and is faster, lovely job as always Pete👌👍

Hi John, I really like these gun's, there not particularly expensive but perform really well, i also prefer the side cup to a top cup, it just makes so much sense particularly if your moving around a lot, they do, although they are expensive, a free angle cup as in this video which you can move as you go, really handy, cheers mate 👍
@JohnWD40TC022 жыл бұрын
I've never had a side cup gun before and providing you are right handed I imagine they would be less intrusive enabling you to see what you are doing much better than a top cup, I wonder if they do a 3M pps 2.0 adaptor for them🤔😂😉
@peteshobbies53832 жыл бұрын
@@JohnWD40TC02 I would think so, they do the mk1 version as i have one, it's the same thread as the Meiji side cup gun's so plenty about. I've said before in some of my videos that it probably wouldn't be any good for left handed people but some have contacted me to say they are LH and it's fine so maybe not as difficult as we think

Hi Pete, great review, actually I bought a similar gun B10 from Japan, but its fluid tip has 12 holes not 16 that you mentioned in your vedio. It branded as RT, kinda limited black edition... can you please check and see yours has 16 holes or not? Thanks!
@peteshobbies538311 ай бұрын
Hi buddy, I'm away at the moment, so I can't check, but I don't think it's 16. I think it's 12. If I said 16, I was wrong as that seems much too much for a relatively small tip. If it won't be for a few weeks buy I will check. I may forget, so if I do, please remind me, and I will look, cheers 👍

Hi Pete, how do you rate this gun between lph80 and this Kiwami-1 b10 in term of quality and the application on different paint such as pearl?
@peteshobbies53836 ай бұрын
Hi Mate, They are both very good but quite different. The LPH80 is smaller in every respect, size, pattern, and output, so it's difficult to compare them

Hi Pete, I hace a question, why are you applying heat gun to the chrome paint? Im using Sherwin williams Chrome and didnt get that result. Please explain why the heat gun Thank you so much
@peteshobbies53832 жыл бұрын
Hi Alex, I use a heat gun if the temperature is below 20°C as it helps the paint dry quicker, I have heat lamps as well but a heat gun is easily and faster on smaller parts. I use the heat gun just before i apply the next layer of base coat not immediately after, if you use it too soon it can move the metallic particles as the paint is still wet

I'm baffled. How do you get a good finish out of a 1.6 tip? I use a 1.2 in my full sized clearcoat gun (Walcom Carbonio) to achieve absolute atomization and a 1.8 for primer surfacer. Is there some trick to this that I don't know about?
@peteshobbies53832 жыл бұрын
Hi Sataman, the 1.6 on this set is designed for clearcoat so I presume they match the cap to the tip size because the cap is different to the 1.3 as is the recommended pressure

hi pete what is the size difference of the actual gun from the KIWAMI 1 and the 4? thanks
@peteshobbies5383 Жыл бұрын
Hi Mitch, I would say the Kiwami4 is around 20% physically bigger and a little heavier. The Kiwami1 feels less top-heavy with a full cup because the weight is lower because of the side cup

Pete, How do the kiwami-1 compare to the meiji finer force?

@@peteshobbies5383 Pete, Yes, I see the various aircap options for the Kiwami-1. I suspect I would look at the 1.3 option in b10 cap but I am unsure. (by the way, I can't get my head around a 1.6 for anything other than a primer gun) I guess my question is: If someone who already had a Prolite and an LPH80 were looking for something in the middle for say bumper resprays etc, would that person be better off with one or the other? The K-1 is cheaper which is nice, but not so much that it would make up for an inferior gun. I guess ease of use for an occasional painter would be important too.

Are these made the same as a w300 apart from a side pot, are parts interchangeable.

They are basically a side cup W300 but in far more variants, the tips are interchangeable but the caps aren't because of the thread which is different, the needles are also different form memory because of the length

Thanks, Pete. How does it compare to the W50?

Hi Lee, they are quite different really, the W50 is a small gun and puts out around 85ml a minute, the 1.6 in this is around 145ml so different as you would expect from a bigger gun
