I think this one would be a killer if IWC add their in house movement and 72 hours power reserve in this aquatimer line and some white gold indices - it would be amazing then

I like it how it is. The thing with IWC is that they upgrade and finish the whole movement, giving it the reliability of the ETA Workhorse and the finish and regulation of a real high end watch. It's really no comparison even to stock ETA movements. As for the gold indices, I think stainless steel fits the utilitarian character of the watch much better.

I hope IWC updates the Aquatimer line with the relatively new 72hr power reserve in-house shared movement 🤞👌

Beautiful watch, gorgeous dial. As an owner I can tell you that the gearing case is totally unnecessary. Yes it looks tough and cool like a scuba tank but the need for a ratchet is really not required. It actually gets in the way as the bezel girl sits right on the case with little room for finger tips. It's a pain. Also adds weight to it. The rubber strap is not as soft as the previous aquatimer 2000s with the sapphire bezel. They had a more supple and rounded strap with smoother edges. If it's not broken just leave the F#%kn thing alone. This one also tapers which does not help the balance of a top heavy case. Yes the 44 case and 46 bezel sits better on the wrist than this one does. That aside it is a beautiful looking piece. Try them both before buying though.

I do love the design (amazing deep dial ) … I don’t see many reviews of them.

The resemblance to a Citizen BN2037-11E is fascinating .

I’m going to go ahead and say it’s the Citizen that looks like the Aquatimer...IWC was here first.

Tim, please stop talking nonsense about crown guards. There are 100500 situations (getting your hand under the table or going through the door, let alone doing any actual complex activities) where something might go right above your hand and right into the crown. Especially with bigger watches with bigger crowns. It’s not a 38mm slim dress watch, after all.

No one is going to take this watch diving ever. It will get scratched, dented and marred.
