well 5 years experience total vs 13 years experience total makes a huge difference. Take random plat+ player, put him in time machine, give him good pc and good internet. He would attend worlds 2011. 2012 no problem and he would completely rewrite the history of league. 2013, he would probably be able to play in worlds but faker would destroy him regardless. Faker was so ahead of curve that he is historically incorrect to his times, it is like he is the time traveler.

I actually agree with the league roster's take, they are specifically talking about a roster in a single year and 2019 G2 is definitely one of the most dominant team in a single year. To this day, they are still the only team outside of korea who had win against SKT in a bo5 in worlds. People who question this and go "wow sure LEC is important just like LPL and LCK", do you understand what makes a golden road and why do people hype about JDG so hard last year? Unironically speaking, 2019 G2 are the second closest team ever to the golden road, the first one being 2015 SKT when they win all year but lost in MSI finals. G2 did the same but lost in Worlds finals. They are literally the same as JDG last year, and JDG didn't even make it to world finals last year. I mean yes korea was not having the best two years during S8 and S9 but it is just a fact. If this is not a blind tier list and go by this standard it will have to be 2019 G2 - 2018 FNC (Spring Summer champs, 3-4th in MSI, 2nd in WCS) = 2023 T1 (Lost a lot of important BOs but at least have the ability to get to that point, LCK spring summer 2nd and MSI 3rd, World Champs) - 2022 DRX (Dramatic WCS title but nothing outside of that) - 2023 vitality (lol) Actually maybe 23 T1 and 18 FNC is kind of the same, depends on your bias (If you want to say LEC is a lower tier region tourney so 2 champs is less than 2 LCK 2nd place, I mean at least T1 are losing to GENG)

G2 is the only team outside of Korean to win a bo5 againts T1? Yeah LPL can't take them down at worlds, but beat them a lof of times during MSI. 2015 SKT was 1 game away from the golden road, but they lost at MSI, which means golden road is over for Summer and Worlds. Yeah if we look at how many games they need to make it they were closer, than 2019 G2, but timeline vise it was G2 to come the closest to the golden road. 2015 EDG was a good match into SKT and 2019 FPX had the same game style as G2 just exacuted on the plays better at worlds. I personally would rand T1 2023 an 2nd. There was no meta changes before worlds everybody role mostly played the same champion as they played in summer. They may have been 2nd behind Gen.G domestically, but they changed the whole worlds meta mid tournament to make it favor them and I don't remember a single team from history who was able to change the meta during an international tournament. For me 2018 FNC only arguement againts them is Caps had one of the most memorable Rookie seasons in the whole scene and the fact that they stopped the 2 year G2 dominance in EU at that point, but than again it shows how good of a player Caps is that ever since than FNC never won a title again.

From what I can remember, FNC's MSI that year was not great (4-6 in groups, 0-3 to RNG in semis) and again S8 Worlds is the year of korea falling off, the world champ last year SSG got a 1-5 score line and iirc is still the worst performance from a LCK team (I think they are still the only LCK team to drop out of the tournament before quarter finals, as for DK last year, the system is different so I can't compare), AFs got 0-3 by C9 making C9 the only NA team to reach semi finals ever (Not counting S1 cuz that is ancient), KT is the only team that is competitive but they have to face against iG in quarters. To this day I still think that was one of the best BO5s to watch, too bad it was quarters, if they swapped places with AFs I think FNC wouldn't get to Finals. As for 23 T1, aside from losing to GENG in the region, their MSI run is in fact not as bad, because they actually beat GENG in upper bracket semis, lost to JDG by 2-3 in upper bracket finals, and lost to BLG 1-3 in lower bracket finals.

And I only recently found out that I wasn't even subscribed. The yt algorithm simply knows. It recommends new baus videos and I click. Baus or Caedrel as a content creator personality isn't better than T1. But in combination with league, Caedrel and Baus are unstoppable. Baus is the most fun you can have watching league gameplay. Prime G2 came into every game as an absolutely unstoppable force. They created chaos in every aspect of the game, from draft to strategy, and would steamroll the enemy before they could stabilize and would do it with the most out of pocket shit. They would int? Sure, that’s the risk you take when you’re playing as close to the edge as they did. And these guys would dance with that line so much. The core of that entire philosophy were Caps’ hands and unpredictable nature; Perkz’ brain for the game, macro and leadership; Jankos’ team and role play, the Jungle King; Micky’s creative roaming and engaging; and Wunder’s solid and reliable play that could always be counted on. That team was (and probably will be for a VERY long time) the absolute best team the West has ever produced in LoL e-Sports. They were, as a Western team doomed to be underdogs from the start, 1 Best of 5 away from being the first team in history to complete “The Golden Road”, winning absolutely every competition they could in the calendar year. I don’t see this current G2 nowhere near that same level yet

I will die on the hill that Faker VS Ryu is a CASTER moment more than a play. Mechanics at that time were definitely 10/10. But the game was already won. There was no stakes. T1 was literally in the process of ending. Even tho it was flashy and clean by faker. He had QSS and Ryu didn't, so it wasn't even a fair 1v1. He's literally ahead AND has the counter item. To me the league play will forever be Xpeke. If Xpeke and Faker vs Ryu were both posted on mute, people who forget about faker vs ryu in a year or two and xpeke would still be iconic.

Wildtrutle won stuff only for 3 years, not 8years. No one care if he was a pro in a half dead LCS region. He didn't win anything for 7years up to now. No one care about his longevity. Adding to that it's way wayyyyyy harder to win it all in modern LEC league than in 2014. Winning the split, then the playoff, then the season finals, is way harder than just slapping everyone and the only deciding factor is : Do you win vs C9 or not. Hell, even the LFL is harder than 2014 LCS.

Also worlds 2023 was way harder to win they had to face all of China which knocked them out in MSI and JDG which is one of the greastest assembled. At worlds they finally peaked at the right time which had all 5 players the best in every role. I would say they are like SSW 14 where they were technically the 3rd seed at worlds if KT didnt choke and only showed up during worlds. Best team ever is SKT 15 and maybe GENG 24 if they win.

Tyler1 is perfect for NA, but it makes full sense why they put him where they did.
