Thank you this content, (much better than the IWI, US YT post). I need to send mine in for the FPB recall. A Reddit user posted that his IWI recall work order after repairs, indicated that IWI replaced, "Firing pin blocker. Securing pin. Firing pin spring. Reworked gas regulator.". Interesting. I have just exceeded 2,000 rounds of both 5.56 M855 and .223 through mine. After ~3 hours at the range with no issues, the next day at the range, I am now having feed fails with rounds not fully and correctly aligning in chamber. Some rounds have fully cleared the magazine and some are partially transferred from the mag and heavily scored on the casing from the bolt lugs. Validated fault with different mags and both 5.56 and .223 from different manufacturers. Same mags and same ammo types were functioning flawlessly with zero issues the previous day(s) through over 2,000 rounds. My rate of fire is ~1x p/120seconds @200-500 yards. I have disassembled BCG and both cleaned and oiled. Function test, live fire and accuracy are exceptional still, (even w/feed fails/faults). After cleaning and inspecting system and still experiencing issue, I've resorted to charging chamber and removing mag. I'm sending in for FPB recall now. I'd really respect your thoughts on this if you have time. Thanks for being my knowledge base. 🙂

The Carmel,is based on the older Israeli Galil ACE weapon. That one , is specifically built for variability on field (adjustable ), and (claimed) much better reliability , for prolonged time on field. So for cleaning purposes, he needed just to take out the main spring, which is as you can see, rather easy. What does it mean as to its actual uses? Well it’s meant for forces operating in dusty and muddy scenarios on a daily basis. So Israel ,as far as I know, gave the brigade in charge of the southern border patrol that weapon. The stock can be modifed or removed btw.

Not an X95, but reminiscent of the Tavor 7, which I guess should have been expected with the short stroke piston.

Definitely a few similarities there. Good call! 👍🏼

The rubber exctractor spring is soooo much better than the flimzy little spring in the AR platforms. In an AR this is the most common malfunction cause.

Reminds me of the Beretta ARX100. Unlike the ARX, the Carmel seems to have factory support and acceptable accuracy. Neither of which the ARX has.

I haven't shot the ARX100 so I can't comment on it. So far I'm happy with the Carmel's accuracy though.

Haven’t tried it yet, but I’ve read that a AR extractor spring with black insert can be used instead of the green rubber extractor.

Did you happen to measure the rail diameter? I’m curious in a hotpocket wrap

Is the IWI carmel bolt larger than AR-15?

Why does the springs look like crap? Is there an upgrade to this?

Did you shoot any .223 ammo through it? I had multiple failures running PMC 55gr and Fiocchi 55gr. 556 ammo no issues.

Yeah I ran both .223 and 5.56 through the carmel with no malfs other than what I created myself. (see other video) In fact, I ran a bag of random loose rounds through it doing bill drills and it ran perfect.

I spoke with IWI and they want me to send it back. Suppressed I had no issue with 223.

You're the second one to say that now. Don't have one to see for myself so I appreciate the info. 👍🏼
