IWI Masada ORP - Part 2 - Optics & Disassembly

Hi HumbleMarksman, I recently bought the IWI Masada and shot 100 rounds and it does not shoot low. I read the manual and spoke with IWI and they confirmed the Masada uses SIG sights front 8 and rear 8. Per the manual gun is zeroed for 25 meters and the sights are combat style with 3 dots, where the point of impact occurs when you align all 3 dots ( not the top of the front sight). You can swap out the front sight for a SIG 6 if you prefer to change the point of impact to the top front. Great pistol especially if you are a "south paw" like myself. I enjoy all your videos!

David, thank you so much for the Safariland holster info. I bought one from Amazon & it works perfectly with my Masada & all the other full sized guns I have! I bought my Masada 2 years ago & couldn't find a paddle holster for it! You have solved that question for that. Love watching your videos for just that reason. Thanks for the complete review! I love my Masada the sites do suck but it’s not a big issue. I have noticed that it youpull up on the front of the pistol and cut the front dot in half with the rear site it’s right on the money.

'Would like to see a complete dissemble of the slide particularly how to remove and reinstall the extractor and extractor spring. Is a video available?? To the best of my knowledge there are no complete dissemble videos of the Masada on KZbin. Owners need. Would you consider doing? Many thanks.

For information purposes, I hope it will help !!! Per the manual: the sights are set at the factory for 25 meters, and using a combat hold !!! A lot of the reviewers were making the mistake of using a traditional 6 o'clock hold and shooting targets much closer than 25 meters. This would result in the shots hitting low as described.

Sights are definitely made for the European market, not the American way of using them. Every review complains about the low impact point, and I can back it up. I am waiting for someone to put out which combination of front/rear sights bring it to a center-hold sight picture in a fiber-optic or fiber/tritium setup. Other than that, I really like the gun. The trigger gets a lot cleaner after a hundred pulls or so, originally a bit rough. You got a T&E gun so it likely had some pulls on it. The slide didn't want to come off the frame until I shot it a bit as well; both of those issues go away fast; so if anyone got a new one and noticed them, don't worry. I fully expect the "Gen 2" of this pistol to address the sight issue, maybe increase the aggressiveness of the grip. Other than that it's a good gun.. Then they need to put out a match version with an Apex trigger and other go-fast parts.

A year and a half later I would like to say that the gun just keeps going. Very nice, smooth and reliable. Other than changing the front sight for a fiberoptic that fixes the POI issue for $39 I have done nothing to it, and really there is nothing to fix.

Agin you have done a very complete review! You get a lot with this pistol for the money . Israeli people know the weapon business . But yes it needs Talon grips . Shot one this week and I conclude with you findings Humble . Agin great job Humble! K

I just bought a Masada a few hours ago and took some first shots. I love it. I did read on a forum that using a Holosun 407 or 507 may require shorter screws than what comes with it. Is that really the case or should I try the RMR screws anyway?

Great vid, thanks. Question: many videos on the Masada declare it shoots low at closer defensive ranges, did you notice this? Is it true that it is zeroed at 25 yds?

The irons are zeroed to hit on the dot of the front sight - not the top of the post. The shift in zero is more than if it had a 25M zero. The sights are pretty bad- I would replace them immediately if I were an irons shooter

I just got my masada, and while reassembling, the spring with the trigger control group 7:15 became dislocated and fell through the grip. I now can’t get the slide back off because the pistol won’t cycle a shot in order to disassemble. Any suggestions?

That's a Deltapoint Pro I'm using in the video. I'd just as soon recommend a Holosun over the DPP. The window is nice on the DPP but the dot is pretty small. If you can wait -the V2 version of the HOlosun dots will be exceptional - supposed to be available in April.

One thing that bothers me is why sig sauer designed the p320 with such a high bore axis when the Masada have the modularity and have a low bore axis.

Yeah they were committing to the P250 which needed a high bore axis I heard rather than starting fresh- seems like a bad play

A good one to start with is the Holosun 407A or 407C. If you want it to be more bulletproof then maybe a Holosun 508T or Trijicon RMR06 Type 1. This is a pretty good one : amzn.to/2sAJvCz

Does anyone else have trouble swapping backstraps? The pin on mine is super tight and I can't seem to get it out easy. And I don't wanna try to force it if there's maybe a trick to getting it out. Heatgun maybe?

This gun needs zero mods whatsoever. The iron sights aren't bad at all, very accurate out of the box. I've had a glock 17 and the masada is way better.

It's a really nice pistol taken by itself. Easily the match for a P10F** as it sits. Add in the price, optic cut and included plates and it is a great pistol. **And I am a little bit of a CZ fanboi.

I never bought sights for it - there are sig suppressor height sights floating around out there - so I'm sure you could - I just didn't spend the cash to figure it out.

Hard to reload due to base plate and grip design- people used P320s for a long time and still use Walther- so you could - it’s just really hard to load
