@@GBGuns Question on the Masada:. Are you aware of several reviews on KZbin claiming that this pistol tends to shoot a bit low? Wondering if this is accurate information.
@GBGuns
@GBGuns 4 жыл бұрын
@@lourak613 Watch our range video. Yes, the sights are set for 25 meters which causes a bit of a point of impact shift from what Americans are used to. We always shoot at 7 yards on this channel since that's the average max defensive distance. You can see the difference it makes there in our video.

Sadly this gun hit the USA market in 2017. Its major selling points was its price, being fully ambi, optics ready, and being "modular". 5 years later, IWI nor ANYONE has made a single grip module for this "modular" pistol.

What an awesome offering from IWI, and great tabletop as always Graham. Looking forward to the range footage, and one of my favorites from the channel: the “What’s for Dinner” portions of range footage! My Rex Zero 1 Compact, and my FN 509, had some seriously stiff recoil springs, so after 500-600 rounds of 124gr NATO they both loosened up “enough” that racking the slide wasn’t one of the 12 Labors of Hercules! 😁

I tip my hat to you my good Sir. I totally set myself up for that one! LOL All joking aside though, I highly recommend the 509 if you can get your hands on one. 3-4 months after I got mine, they released the compact version after Shot Show. Apparently, even at 39 years old I have to learn how to contain my excitement *every time* there’s a new model of......well everything 😁

Now see, I have learned from you to have a zen like (and maybe pick up some of that there patience next time I’m at Walmart) approach towards newer, shinier, and almost irresistible, newly released “hand candy!” Well eye candy is an entirely different comment/video, but picking up an incredibly ergonomic, and long sought after handgun, it could very well qualify as Hand Candy!! I hear ya by the way, and it drives me nuts too. It should be mandatory for all the whiners and complainers to have a box of tissues on hand for when they get ultra sensitive, and feel the need to cry 😏

spektr540hemi- that’s news to me, and as far as strikers breaking, I had heard those were the Gen 1 Sig P365’s? I have close to 800 rounds through my 509, with literally zero malfunctions through it. I’m not one of those interwebs weirdos that claim to have 2,000+ rounds through whatever gun they.....and I *HATE* this term......are a “fan-boy” of. Apologies for all the blah, blah. I know that Apex has one of their magical triggers for then the 509, and hopefully FN *is* scanning our KZbin comments for new design ideas 😉

Your one of the very few vids I have commented on. Very well put together video. 👍👍👍 I have had many pistols over the years. Spent 24 yrs in the Infantry retired in 08. Have shot my share of handguns on this rock. Enough Bio on me. Had a Jericho 941R 2 yrs ago. Good pistol. T Rex pistol.... LOL!!! Started seeing the Masada,s around Clarksville over the last couple of years. Dry firing em , handling em Curiosity about em. Bad itch I knew I would have to scratch eventually. The one inherent thing that I have seen about these pistols dry firing em. Is zee fugging ro front sight bounce and a rock solid follow thru. Many striker fired pistols have overly heavy striker springs which cause sight bounce and a bad follow thru dry firing them. The trigger on the Masada is nice IMO. I bought one saturday. Got it home, put it on the trigger gauge right out of the box. 5.15 to 5.25 pds for 5 pulls. Dissembled the pistol completely down per your vid. Clean, oil, lube My oil and lube mix is 25/ 75 mix of atom lube grease and lucas extreme duty gun oil. Dry fired it about 200 times watching tv. Got up Put it on the gauge. 4.35 to 4.55 x 5 times. Impressed with that. 2 dollar tuesday at the range coming up. Got fed champion 115 Win white box nato 124 Rem UMC 115 Blazer brass 115 See what this pistol puts to POA/POI the best. Run about 250 rds thru it See how it rolls. Gonna pick up the meo tritiums for it afterwards. Get it adjusted to the ball it likes. Then pick up a couple of different boxes of HP,s. See what shoots closest to the ball I figure after about after about 750 to 1k rds this pistol should settle in at around a 4pd trigger. Thumbs up on your vid man!!! 👍👍👍

@@GBGuns I seen the Sig 124,s IIRC shot tight. I watched that vid also. Academy has sig loadings regularly. Get a box of that also. Tracking on the 3 dot blot combat sight picture at 25m . Pretty common with alot of striker fired pistols, even out to 50m on some. Aim for upper chest , centerline hits even at close range 3 or 4 inches low do the job also.... Good vid productions and thought out content.

Do you know how it compares to the polymer IWI Jericho? I currently carry the steel frame Jericho 941, but it's getting a little bit heavy if I'm standing and walking around all day. I'm either looking towards getting the new Masada or getting the polymer version of my everyday carry. I'm a big guy at 6'5" so the larger size doesn't really make a difference as the weight.

@GBGuns
@GBGuns 2 жыл бұрын
Look at the dates of the two videos. Opinions change. Windows on the right side are good while loading a mag, or checking mags in a belt (right handed shooter with mags facing rounds forward). Windows on the back of the mag (or left side of mag) are great for checking once partially used and in the gun. Windows on the back of the mag can also however drive up production cost as it's typically the weld surface, so if numbered there's a risk of damaging the numbering during the finishing grind. So, to conclude it depends on your intended application and ideal mag cost per unit. Next question. :p

Supposed to retail for $480, MAP is less but not close to $400 (or under). I wish all you people that IWI sends guns to could get that straight

And what do you think I have to do with any of that? This is why I don't like to mention prices. I film the video at one point in time and things change. When I received the gun and information nothing had been released yet. The manufa turned changed their mind but the video can't change.

@@GBGuns what you have to do is that when people see your video, the go accuse gun shops of price gouging because they follow IWI price guidelines. Sure not "$400 or a little less". If you don't have facts, why would you even mention a price?

Because I had what the company suggested before the gun was released. If anyone is going to a gunship without researching facts from the manufacturer they deserve to be butt hurt.

Wow! See minute 7:15. Everybody & their mama are copying the SIG & Glock innovations. I guess that is a form of flattery when your patents run out. *The Question(s) is/are then:* HIGH-END - Is buying one (1) or two (2) more costly original high-end guns (Glock, SIG, HK, Walter, etc.) better to use for their polished benefits? (proven reliability, huge aftermarket parts & extras, large supply of holsters, excellent & REAL warranty, much higher re-sale prices, etc.) LOW-END - Is going cheap better and buying MANY "clones" (5, 10, 14, etc.) or semi-copies of a Glock/SIG for their basic offerings & so-so warranties? Something to think about. (buy the sometimes good, sometimes bad *Taurus* which has very bad warranty services I hear, get a huge *Hi-Point* that's designed to fail at about 5,000 rounds, or even the anti-gun rights, lobbying against the 2nd Amendment Springfield's new *Hellcat* (more Glock-like than XD-like) which already has an issue with it's trigger jamming for people with small hands, etc.) Some things to think about that gun salesmen leave out for some reason *:* 0 I wonder why? *NOTE:* HAPPY VETERAN'S DAY!!
