Wondered into local dealer, they had one, bought it and must say, this pistol is the sweetest I've ever owned in 9mm. The tear down pin is not a problem, just do it like the demo says. The composite trigger is so smooth and definite you'll cry like a baby for finally finding a manufacturer that knows how to build an extremely fine and fun shooter for a very attractive price-if you can find one.

Unfortunately, 200 or so rounds through mine and the firing pin broke. I contacted IWI and their customer service was beyond excellent. Long story short, they replaced the part, took care of the shipping both ways and I had my pistol back in a week! About 3k through it now and not a single issue. It's back in my carry rotation now. Good pistol, great company, and a great video as well.

I predict, in 2-3 years time: IWI will announce and release a Masada Slim Enhanced or Tactical version, with accessory rail, threaded barrel, and either a captive take-down pin, or one more similar to that found on a CZ - with a handle of its own instead of a finger-nail lip to grab.

As I understand it, the sliding pin cover is part of the design safety - it won’t slide to unlock position with a mag inserted, and once slid to unlock position, won’t allow mag insertion. It’s pretty cool.

Best 5 second safety check ever. Drop slide, rack open, visual check (most stop here), FINGER chamber check, and a new one for me, FINGER mag well check.

I'm a fairly new gun owner and I brought my Masada Slim to an experienced friend to oversee my first-time takedown and cleaning. But reassembly was a nightmare; we couldn't fully re-insert the pin. It protruded, despite all our attempts at proper alignment, and blocked the takedown tab. I thought I had it figured out until I tried and failed to insert a mag. We gave up after 90 minutes(!!!) and I went to the gym to forget my troubles. I've heard this procedure can be a pain in the neck with the Masada S but I only wish it were - compared to a nightmare. I had fired a grand total of 120 rounds previously and can't see where we did anything in the disassembly and cleaning that could have caused the pin not to slide in completely. Can't imagine what's obstructing the pin. BTW, holding the gun upside down didn't help.

​@aldayalnite Thanks for responding - glad I'm not the only one. A week later, we gave it another try, and after 30 min, my friend got it done. We don't know exactly what he did. Glad you succeeded. Do you know what the obstruction was? I might call customer service to get feedback.

@@josephpaul4548 The pin’s flat side goes toward the entry point, flat edge facing bottom of slide. I was trying to put it in reversed because I failed to really examine it before pulling the pin, and that’s the way it looked in this video to me. I was wrong about that. Once I got it in, I still couldn’t get the takedown lever to slide back. I remembered on an earlier malfunction at the range when the magazine wouldn’t go back in: that time, I found a small block extended inside the magazine cavity of the grip. That time, I pushed the block in and the magazine slid home and I went back to firing. During takedown reassembly, I found that same block extended. I pushed it back in place and noticed the takedown lever was back in position immediately. The weapon was able to slide, cock, and dry fire correctly. So, tl;dr: once I worked the pin back in, the takedown magazine block had to be reset manually to complete the reassembly. An awkward design flaw, it seems. I’m going to keep looking into this. At the range, I think my friend accidentally slid the take down lever forward when he was firing the weapon and that caused the blockage. I think now I’ll just run this gun dirty for a while and see how it performs 😂 this thing is built by shooters for shooters, it ought to hold up to minimal maintenance anyway. It’s low cost enough to FAFO. Hope that helped, friend. Happy shooting!

Dumbest takedown process for such a great gun. And the takedown lever sticks out annoyingly. Why do some gun companies feel like they have to reinvent the wheel with every new gun they come out with?

A take down lever that rotates 45° is preferred. A little extra width in that one small area is a non issue.

It is not the hardest takedown process, but it seems overly difficult. Certainly, in the process of developing the Slim, the engineers had access to all manner of handguns, had the opportunity to study the takedown of those firearms, had the opportunity to see the comments of hundreds of reviewers by experienced gun people about each different process, certainly heard comments from many if not all, that having to deal with a removable pin that can be dropped/lost is a bad idea, and then with all that knowledge, came up with the current system. Can you say why? I would also be interested in the thinking behind the fairly gentle grip texturing. I understand why some people don't like aggressive texturing, but the Slim is pretty mild. Going back to the previous comments, it has been my experience that better texturing especially on the backstrap and frontstrap is welcome, especially with a smaller firearm that can often require more grip to control the recoil. All this said, I am not unhappy with the Slim. It's a bit heavy for the size, but that's not a deal breaker. It is well made, reliable and there is much to like.

First time dissembling. I'm having a horrible problem getting the pin to go all the way in flush. It is very close, but not quite enough for the pin to connect thru the hole in the other side, so the slide will lock back. Can someone give me some advice? I feel I have done everything right, but the pin simply WILL NOT connect thru to the other hole. And YES, I'm doing it with the slide upside down as advised. It is plainly NOT slipping in as shown in the video. Thanks for any help you can give me, because at this time I am holding a brand new firearm that is totally useless to me. If I can't get it in, do I have to send it back for repair?

Where does someone buy extra Masada Slim 9mm magazines? have tried every gun shop listed on Google and IWI USA - all out of stock! Must be some new marketing ploy by IWI - have to buy the Masada Thin again to get an additional 2 magazines!

If you are desperate the Masada S will take Jericho mags which means that it can take Cz75 mags.

Any CZ75, Jehrico / Baby Eagle, EAA Witness mag fits the slim. Worked for me.

Slim’s Teardown pin design is the most cumbersome I’ve ever experience. And a surprise something so poorly thought from IWI (loyal owner of many here). Lining up the tiny half moon pin within the slide, body and barrel is difficult. Due to very loose tolerances on the entry hole of the body, makes alignment to the barrel and opposite side body locating bore a real pain. The entry hole does not provide a pilot to ensure alignment. And that tiny little pin rolls around the bench making it easy to lose. IWI needs to rethink this design. Ugh!!
