Everything about Kura Sushi looks like fun! From the condiment/utensil hidey hole to the cool Gachapon plate guzzler (and game) to the fully automated experience, it's so quirky, easy, and family friendly. Not to mention cheap. Twenty plates of sushi would cost 5 times that where I live. Thanks, guys! 💙💙

The gachapon features items from Haikyū!! It's a popular anime about a high school volleyball team. It's actually a very well-written and heartwarming story, and that's speaking as someone who doesn't normally watch sports-themed anime. The character on the eraser you received is Tsukishima Kei.

I'm giggling right now because it looks like the "game" is just the eyecatch from the older seasons and you win if you randomly get the ones where they hit the bottle... And the scenes after you lose are from the anime too 😂 The collab must be because of the movie, since it came out pretty recently.

I enjoyed this video so much! The biggest reason is because here in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania here in the United States, we have a Kura Sushi here as well! It was so interesting seeing the differences between the native and abroad Kura Sushi. For example, Kura here in Pittsburgh doesn't have the games, you have to eat a total of 30 plates in order to get a prize from the gachapon. As well as the eating utensils and where the soy sauce was we do not have. We also don't have a green tea station at the table! But, the sushi is fresh and always good! Thank you so much for this video!

My kids love sushi but I loathe it. Do the Kuras in the US offer the fishless options? I've only seen Kura vids from Asia. I'd love to take them to one sometime, but I gotta have something to eat, too. I'm allergic to egg, so no tamago.
@savannahray83479 ай бұрын
@staceyn2541 Kura does have fishless options in the Pittsburgh one. They have ramen, tempura shrimp, tamago, fries, hamburg steak nigiri, cooked beef with umami oil or yakiniku based nigiri. There is a bit more that I cannot recall right now, but hopefully that helps you out!

What a nice surprise seeing Haikyuu while watching one of my fave food channels! It's cute that they used the serves from the eye catches to determine if it's a win or lose. Erasers shaped like the jerseys was a bit of a weird choice for a gacha prize though lol.

Everything looked so good. Especially the eel. Yum! We don't have a sushi conveyor restaurant here but a new sushi place opened up here recently that I really want to try and it's all you can eat sushi, appetizers, (calamari, gyoza, etc) and hibachi. $20 a person for lunch and $30 for dinner. And it's not a buffet, everything made to order. I thought that was a pretty good price for a restaurant like that. Going to have to try it out now that you've got me wanting sushi.😂🍣😋

I took my wife and sister in law to Hamasushi today for lunch. We prefer it over kurasush, both are close to our house. Hamasushi doesn't have prepared sushi you select off of the conveyor belt thing. Instead, you order it and it comes to you on a conveyor belt . Thanks for the video!!

Forgot to mention, it cost ¥5,000 for the 3 of us including 2 non alcoholic beers . Us seniors eat less.

I never noticed (in other Kura vids) that you could get a half order. I love that you can pay extra to guarantee a win. Totally worth it if you are there with kids. The prize might be super lame, but that's not the point for them. Adults need games too. All we ever get are punch cards for a free coffee after we buy 10.

Kura is expanding here in the USA. I went first in Las Vegas a few years ago and now there's one in my hometown, Pittsburgh. I love it - the food is good quality and although it's cheaper than the average American sushi bar, it costs at least twice of what it is in Japan. No free tea either.The gachapon automatically sends a prize with every ten plates.

It's $3.55 per plate before tax here at the Kura location in the US, Washington DC area. And you only get the toy for every 15 dishes that you eat. Still grateful though because the mom and pop Japanese restaurants nigiri around here cost much more than that, between $5 to $15 for 2 pieces.

At this establishment, each individual plate represents the same fixed price. When they are deposited into the return slot, their system counts the numbers of plates and tabulates the total bill.

You would not believe the number of people around here that think sushi is raw fish and that if it doesn’t have raw fish it isn’t sushi😅 but California rolls that have imitation crab and are sushi😢 and heaven forbid you point out they are wrong and contradicting themselves.
@eatlikealocal8 ай бұрын
The term "Sushi" refers to Rice being seasoned with Vinegar. "O su" denotes Vinegar and "Shi" is the contraction for "Shari", the word for Rice. In essence, it can be topped with a variety of different ingredients - not just seafood or raw items.
