I had to travel to Okinawa a lot for work pre-covid and I begged my boss to take me to blue seal every night. I'm a 25 y/o child at heart lmao. It's really fun to relive some of the memories from this video and also some good finds for the next time i (hopefully) get to travel back there again!

Love the video! I lived in Okinawa from 90-93. I was a teenager then and used to get tacos at Charlie’s Tacos on BC Street. It was a good Okinawan spin n Mexican food, as the shells were like nothing I had tasted in the states! My husband and I are planning to go in the future. This was very nostalgic.

What an amazing food culture. To be honest, I looked down upon Okinawan cuisine as I'd figured it was a mixed of American and Japanese, but it evolved to be it's own unique way of cooking and so diverse. Even Western food looks legit in Okinawa. Wow! Thank you! Now I want to try chinsuko.

how are the current covid situation like in Japan? Are there movement restrictions? Hope you are staying safe!
@lmaree2008863 жыл бұрын
Tokyo and its surrounding prefectures are currently in the middle of a state of emergency, but the restrictions are dependent on voluntary compliance. Restaurants and bars are requested to close at 8:00pm and authorities want residents to limit unnecessary outings in the evenings. The Metropolitan Government will provide up to 60,000 yen ($750) per day to bars and restaurants that comply, but whether it will be enough to stave off bankruptcy is unclear. Record numbers of restaurants declared bankruptcy in Japan in 2020, according to Tokyo Shoko Research, eclipsing the previous high caused by the March 2011 earthquake and tsunami. Though less seriously hit by the pandemic than many other countries, Japan has been unable to rein in the virus. Prime Minister Yoshihide Suga had been hesitant to accept the Tokyo Metropolitan Government's request to make the emergency declaration because of the significant economic consequences. Record infections and the threat of collapse of the hospital system eventually forced his hand. Japan's Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare says it was unable to secure spaces in hospitals or isolation facilities for 3,056 people with the virus between December 27 and January 2. The week before, the Health Ministry was unable to secure beds for more than 1,700 infected people. Now, Mr Suga has accepted a further request from the governors of the prefectures of Osaka, Kyoto, Hyogo, Aichi, Gifu, Fukuoka and Tochigi to expand the state of emergency. It will mean about 55 per cent of Japan's population will be under restrictions.

@@lmaree200886 Wow thanks for the detailed explanation 🙏 I hope the covid situation will get better over there, stay safe! Over here in Malaysia, the public aren’t allowed to dine in at bars and restaurants, just takeaways and deliveries are allowed... they’re also encouraging people to work from home

@@musiclover191098 I just found an article for you and copy+pasted it lol! 😂 I’m actually in Australia myself. We are doing way better than most countries! Majority of the country haven’t had cases in months but it’s just the east coast getting sporadic small clusters cause of failures In controlling international arrivals while in quarantine. We currently have 296 active cases nationwide and majority are in hotel quarantine! Masks have been mandatory for my state of Victoria since early August when we got the brunt of the virus in a second wave. Sydney has a mask mandate now and Brisbane had a temporary one last week.
