I have one works great when you finally learn how to install games, PS1 and PSP games does play although PS1 racing games runs jurky but other games runs just fine but runs best on the main memory

Yea ,he might accidentally end up in 1970 by mistake or by technical problems .Everything seems to turned out fine .He may even stayed in 1970 for a while to watch the 1970 world cup where Brasil won the final against Italy with one of the legends in football Pele 🤣 .

We need a SMOOREZ+Dankpods collab. I have spoken. EDIT: After watching the full video, and many videos about these cheapo consoles, I've come to the conclusion that many of them could be fixed with better software, emulators, etc. When it comes to hardware (displays, buttons, speakers) it's a whole different thing, but emulation... These chips are capable of doing better. I mean, our mate just tuned some settings in some of the games and they played better. Imagine what you could do by stepping it up a notch.

I found the datasheet for that SoC and honestly pretty surprised it can handle any of this stuff. Also interesting to find out it's a MIPS32 SoC and not an ARM SoC.

Actions SoCs were in pretty much every cheap MP3/MP4 player in the late 2000s/early 2010s, including all the infamous iPod clones. It's not ARM, but a MIPS core.

I've got the X12 plus but my viewing angles are great on my machine I'd say they are perfect...so I'd say they put in different screens in some of the machines don't know why but there ya go 🙏🏽👍🏾

Hi Smoorez, thanks for the in-depth review. You showed that the music player had a user EQ where the user could adjust the Hz levels. My question is: is the X12 Plus the only one of this console clone range which has that, or are you aware if the X12/X7/X6 has this as well? I've used a Chinese MP5 player for 10 years to play music, which had the exact same music player with User EQ settings. It's broken this week, very sad, so I want to get whichever of these console clones has the same music player features, without paying extra for game features - which I wouldn't use.

Also, I watch these on a 144hz screen with DDR5 ram at 4800mhz, and I prefer 144p to get that aliexpress screen feel.

They say free downloads in the listing because they sometimes include a link to a bunch of ROMs through a Google drive Link or other online source. I don't think they're saying the console itself has online connectivity.

The form factor is nice, but it's amazing how bad it performs. If someone wants to get a retro handheld that can actually play PS1 games at full speed, they could buy an Anbernic RG35XX for roughly the same price and get far better performance across the board.

The size + battery capacity are the only good things about this thing. I have seen a Korean KZbinr mod this console by swapping the crappy original motherboard with PSP motherboard & thus, an oversized PSP.

Not sure. I looked at the 5" version last year and according to the motherboard - this was made in 2020 and likely sold in 2021. Could be the same guts just rebranded though. Wouldn't be a surprise there :)

I just recently received this same one and I am really happy with it! It is a shame it can't handle PlayStation games but it handles Gameboy variants, NES and Snes really well. I have got some N64 and Gamecube games on there but I haven't tried them yet. I mainly play PS4 and a gaming pc to play games but I wanted a handheld and this looked cool so I think I paid around £50 for it and I am really happy so far. If all it does is continue to play nes and snes that is fine, it will encourage me to play some of those games and i will save the other kinds of games for PC and PS4. It works well, screen looks great from all angles. Sound is a bit crap but then the music on those games isn't great anyway so it doesn't really need to be better.

It actually does play PS1 and psp games, you need to install it on a sd card or the main memory. I've done this to mine. Just one thing PS1 racing games runs jurky but other games run fine.

I got one verry simular looking but original PSP size with android on it that could handle PSP games back in 2013. Sadnly it only lasted a couple of months before tunring into a paper weight because the internal memory got corupted and it stoped booting

Now here's the crazy thing. If this had better emulators on it. This would be an amazing emulation device. But I have tried every which way possible. I cannot find a way to replace the emulators on here. Maybe I just don't know enough about it to do anything. Maybe there is some stuff out there that I could probably look at and get done. But it's just sitting on my desk for that one day that I may find a way to put better emulators on it. My nephew would love to have something like this and with the current crappy emulators on it it's not great.

Do not bother, it does not have enough CPU power to emulate 32-bit consoles. 16-bit is OK-ish and that is about it.

@@aleksazunjic9672 I know this. I have one already. I got it for like $20 from somebody off of Facebook. But the emulators on it give you no customization for the games whatsoever. The games that it barely emulate could be emulated if you adjusted the settings. Which is why I'm trying to change out the emulators

@@Dtr146 From my experience emulators are usually in the ROM and manufacturer locked down settings they think are the best for the device (usually not 😁) . Why they do that ? Probably because these devices are meant to be simple to use, for not so knowledgeable people.

the problem for that kind of device is, most ppl have an smartfon capable of running retroarch for retro games, or aethersx2 for ps2 era games. The only thing that solves is the controller

Surplus obsolete mobile chips and screens, good enough for 8-bit and perhaps 16-bit emulation. 32-bit is too much. That is about it, although somewhat better buttons and sound than previous one.
