Largest Collection Of Garfield Memorabilia In The World. Travis from iwonder TV went to Florida to talk to Maritza Cruz. She has a collection of over 10,000 unique pieces of Garfield related memorabilia. She's Jim Davis's biggest fan and has several signed pieces of Garfield items from him. Maritza Cruz began collecting Garfield memorabilia in 1981 when her future husband gave her a bean-bag Garfield doll. Her favorite item is her 2016 Volkswagen Beetle that is been wrapped in a custom-designed Garfield face, with his paws on the front and sides of the car, making it look like he is ready to pounce and his tail being the last thing you see as the car passes by. Jim Davis first drew his Garfield character in a June 19, 1978, strip.

I love this so much. Sometimes when people have these large collections it can kind of seem like just one giant hoard that consumes they're entire house, and it looks messy. This woman's house is so tastefully decorated (as tasteful as one can get with Garfield XD) and her collection is just lovely ❤️

She loves collecting more than she does Garfield. If it wasn't Garfield, it would've been something else. There is a difference between fan, and collector. It's like a ven diagram. Theres a small part that overlaps. That's where Garfield goes. But being a fan doesnt mean collecting every piece of commercial merchandise that exists for that one thing. That's an obsession for collecting, not fandom.
