iWS tutorial (w/ voice-over)

I have been rocking the same HRAP3 since it came out. Nice presentation, I'll be sure to show this to some of my friends who are trying to learn Tekken.

@MiyusRibbons AFAIK that worked in Tekken 5 but has been "nerfed" in Tekken 6. I remember some work being done on what you said and it ended up being that it can no longer be performed in 1 frame. As such the d,d/f,n notation is now the standard notation for iWS in Tekken 6 and later.

@eviesnumerounofan Aris has recently released a iWR tutorial (it's on the front page of TZ) so that's probably a good place to start. I haven't watched it in its entirety yet, but I assume he covers iWR+2 for Dragunov.

the real iWS notation is db_d_df, n, 4 (whatever button press), your showing a crouch dash/qcf cancel into iWS which is a far easier way to access iWS moves and has a lot more practical use. just saying

is this possible with the xbox's dpad? I'm having a lot of trouble learning this and i'm considering getting a stick. i think youre using a hori v3sa? is it easier with a stick?

I'd assume this is possible on pad but admittedly all the Dragunov players I know play on stick. If I had to take a guess, doing the sliding iWS+4 is easiest on stick but I'm sure with practice you can figure it out with your current pad. At the time I was using the HRAP 3 SA but nowadays I use TE Round 2.

+FireGuyX If you can't afford a stick, I'd say pass on buying a stick and practice with the PS3 pad. A lot of great players use pad, so it's definitely something you can master. With that being said, I'd buy a Japanese stick because if you ever find Tekken 7 in arcade, chances are it'll be on j-stick and not k-stick.

+Tyler2k Blog This is FireGuyX here, I deleted that Gmail account. Anyways I just noticed it's more difficult to do iSW with Anna and Dragunov since doing d,d/f,n can accidentally input their qcf moves (I main Anna). d,d/b,n is useless because you move backwards. Yeah the PS3 controller sucks ass, you can't input moves fast enough with a controller, I need to buy a stick.

+Sonny C Lol I just use analog and its not hard at all either way qcf will be a problem. Even on pad its not hard just a pain to get consistent.

timppa yep, the process is identical for Dragunov or pretty much any character with a snap kick.

Help, been trying to learn the iWS. It's pretty easy with the dpad. Now I switched to stick and I'm having trouble executing it. Sometimes, after I release the joystick after the df, the joystick executes an f by accident, so sometimes I get a qcf move instead. I can't release the joystick from df position without accidentally hitting any other directional input. Any tips?
