Ooo I haven’t thought about detangling as a keyword for The Hermit before! That is a very cool way to look at it. I often think about the term disconnecting (a break from social things or the internet for example) but detangling feels so much more intentional and meticulous. I love it. Also you are dressed very cozy for this video, with your little lantern in the background YOU look like the Hermit.

I just had an epiphany that if the Hermit is detangling, maybe there's re-entangling (or just entangling) in the next card, the Wheel 🤯 also yes this blanket was REALLY cozy 😆

One of my favorite Hermit cards is from the Spacious Tarot. It reminds me to forge my own path. It shows a light in the middle of a forest with no paths around it. Finding my own wisdom if you will. I really liked your meanings and your life examples as they relate to the Hermit card. I too have found my own way with my spiritual path, it is very different from how I was raised. For me, my parents believed in presenting a spiritual path, but were always open to questions surrounding that specific spirituality. Encouraging us (my siblings and me) to find our own way as we became older. I think they thought of it as a foundation to build our own faith.

Good point about no paths around it! I haven't noticed that! Foundation to build our own faith is a great way of putting it. As much as I resented parts of those experiences, I am glad that my first experiences with religion was with Buddhism. It's a very different experience compared to others I know who were raised Christian/Catholic. Even now, I'm still more drawn to concepts of Buddhism than of other religions.

My card of the year was the Hierophant, but man it feels like the Hermit was creeping in the shadows all along 🤣
