IXION 100% Self Sufficient - No Mining, No Industry, Runs off waste

In this video I show you my setup for 100% self sufficient Tiqqun running only off of waste. You need to build insect farms instead because waste product is not enough to run the Water Treatment Center + 1 recycler.
For an even more efficient setup, do not have your first accident(no overwork) and you will never have any accident therefore no need for health building. Get 2 insect farm food sectors setup, remove all mushroom walls as there is no longer a need for them. All your waste can be used to generate alloy/polymer/electronics.

Sector 1 is a space T2 sector, the sector layout really doesn't matter that much, you can lay them out any way you like as long as you have your food and recyclers setup. You can have 2 food sector if you please, insect farms doesn't need any input to output food. I have another video on themed sectors if you need layout ideas. Also you can do layout mocks with the game paused, you can plop buildings in and see what works for you

With the amount of polymers you can store before going into waste production + producing polymers with waste, it isn't an issue

You could pulse the water treatment plant, given alot of algea farms and storage you can push out enough food in a few cycles to last while you supply the recycling. It works, though it is not excatly relaxing, and forgetting to turn the water treatment back on in time can result in quite a bit of starving.

It works like a champ. However the issue I ran into was my population was making more waste than I could really use and it built up fast. You can get the station completely stable forever with insect farms, solar panels, and the waste generation will make more alloy, polymer, or electronics than you need.

If there is a need to get rid of waste, I usually turn on bunch of recyclers and make electronics. If you just want to remove them without any product than water treatment center will burn thru them fast

Lot of dismantling and building but it's not so bad, if you already have layout of the sector in mind, it would be much easier.

1st sector a management, 2nd sector is food and waste production (no water), 3rd and 4th is processing, what about 5th?

Storage lol you can make it into anything really, I made it into a warehouse due to resources pilling up. 5 and 6 is really up to your imagination. You could make another food sector if you want to save a couple of mushroom walls. You only got so much waste so use them as you see fit

Where are you getting all the waste from? Do insect farms produce waste?

Insect farm does not produce waste. The build up of the waste is from previous industry + population waste from crew quarters. Mostly from crew quarters. Upgrades are available for crew quarters to generate more waste. There is always a transition period from collecting some waste to eventually removing industry. As soon as you get DLS center up, you set Propaganda then set waste, at this point you can start collecting waste. Usually at this time, your population will still be low but in chapter 3 you get up to 5k population and waste production will be enough

@@henrydantignac4266 time to go to chapter 3 and you should be able to get to self sufficiency. I have an updated video for this as well where mushroom walls are not used so you have more waste for resources instead of food
