Not having played this, and being a fan of the music, this is a sweet jump scene!! Love good scifi.

The only downside, i'd say, to these VHOLE jump cutscenes, is that 70% of the animation is reused.

Yeah, I agree. That's why I added the dialog after it.

I have a theory on how the vohle engine works. The vohle engine is capable of changing its time position through the X axis on a 2 dimensional plane. I predict that this after the vohle engine activates, it's capable of accelerating the ship faster than light , faster than space. This is where the time zone falls, because your technically no longer in space or no longer relative to space it's required to have some speed entering the time zone or you'll end up in the same place. In time it's going forward or backward aka X axis (this could also be swapped with Y, whichever is greater) on a 2 dimensional plane. If X is time and Y is distance. You stay at a distance let's say on a line graph your 50 meters, if you know what constant speed is then it will make sense. You go along the time graph while staying the same distance. Now we have fundamental laws of this sort of thing (may be far fetched but eh) we can talk about what happens when the vohle engine is activated. The vohle engine accelerates the ship through space above. Meaning this adds another dimension, the third dimension. So we put these 2D laws into the distance time scale. A 3 dimensional space technically keep two of these laws while adding one of their own. The Z axis. There is no knowing what that Z axis law is. It may not be relevant to time or distance at all. But because of that 3rd dimension you add another direction to go to. So I guess it could be the direction you're heading. So when adding the direction you're going in the vohle jump which the vohle jump does by default and cannot be changed as it always will add that third dimension. This means they went the wrong way forward into time. They sent themselves forward into time, only going through the Z axis (direction) not Y axis (distance). Calculating angles and stuff meaning they went through Z axis and X axis at the same time. And we put this into words we say. They went forward into time at this direction (angle) at a constant speed/distance. They didn't change their speed/distance but moved in the wrong direction (towards the moon) causing time overlapping (the moon orbit) which caused the moon to be punched through. During the second vohle jump they said self-similar trajectory. Self similar could mean a ton of things like instead of changing their direction they changed their speed/distance while going forward into time. This means technically you can go back into time but this would break all laws of physics and what not, or may be the reason why you lose hull integrity during the jump. Not sure if this is accurate or even possible but this is my interpretation of the vohle jump. (Any nerds about physics and time and stuff please enlighten me and don't hold back because I want to study physics and stuff because I love space, also this is my own interpretation to the space and time zones)
