The highest setting of the torque accessory is 1,9 Nm. Second highest setting is below 1,7 Nm. Tested with a Wera torque 1,7-3,5 Nm screwdriver. Without torque assesory the IXO (Gen 7) delivers at least 3,5 Nm. I use it to tighten (dozens of) wire connection terminals of protection relays.

Thank you for the video. I have ordered the black one as the material/texture seems better for grip (doesn't seem readily available - I could only find it in Germany). The torque adaptor is disappointing and pointless if you couldn't even hold it at its lowest setting! In another video someone used the drill adaptor and that seemed quite a useful thing to have for smaller drilling tasks.
@sterntechdaddy2 жыл бұрын
The grip is great… really comfortable. And you’re right about the torque adaptor - it’s pretty pointless. For drilling I would still use a ‘proper’ drill though… :)

Hi Nic :) Amazing review. Loved that you were honest with what you had and what you wanted. Though the main piece is handy, all it's attachments are really expensive. And not giving a charging adapter is just stupid. Just like how Apple does it with it's phones.. xD Anyways, could you please tell me the name of that extension that you showed that wasn't bosch? The one which could be twisted to screw in edges and everything? Also, Is there an attachment available outside of bosch to attach drillbits? Would be great to know these. Thanks and have a great day :D

I've lost track of the exact make of the angled holder I've got, but if you do a quick Google for "pivot bit holder" you'll find loads... I do remember that the one I have cost less than £10 though. Another tip is to get the 5mm Ball Ended Hex bit - rather than use the 5mm flat headed bit included - you'll see why if you get one... Just search for "5mm hex ball head" and take your pick of the 1/4" hex ones. I have a couple of WERA ones. :D For drilling, any drill bit that has the 1/4" hex on it will fit. But I wouldn't use the IXO for anything more than very light drill work like chipboard and thin plastics. It has no hammer action and so is totally unsuitable for brick or walls. Or anything that's reasonably thick. To be safe, I wouldn't use the IXO for drilling at all... I have a second more powerful drill for those tasks instead. Hope that helps.

That charging stand. Perfect example of form over function. A couple of tweaks and it would be perfect. A cynic might suggest they will be ready to sell a revision in a few months!
@sterntechdaddy2 жыл бұрын
The stand has been around for years I think... there are a few obvious design tweaks though - the most obvious to me is being able to connect the cable and then route it to either end would be nice.
@mancbiker172 жыл бұрын
@@sterntechdaddy Ah I only bought mine afew days ago. I didn't realise the stand was an old design. But yes, that cable would drive me nuts. Whoever designed it clearly didn't have OCD :)
@sterntechdaddy2 жыл бұрын
@@mancbiker17 OCD can be clinically debilitating so I feel a bit uneasy when the term is used in a broader sense, so it's not really OCD - its MUCH simpler than that... Why not design things so they work properly with any issues people could have during the first 30 minutes of usage. 😃 For the charger, it would be nice to be able to have the cable drop over the back of a table and still slot the IXO 6 in without having to turn it round. That just seems really obvious and I'm a bit disappointed that Bosch didn't spot that.

Are there drill bit accessories?
@sterntechdaddy2 жыл бұрын
There is... but the IXO would only be good for light drilling... it has no hammer action for one thing. Most people will have a 'proper' drill anyway and more precise drilling is better done with a Dremel - which renders the drill attachment more of a novelty rather than anything you'd actually use.
@LasDivine2 жыл бұрын
@@sterntechdaddy ahh ok. Yeah I have my current drill set. Just liked the more compact design.
@sterntechdaddy2 жыл бұрын
@@LasDivine I'm not saying don't buy the IXO drill attachment.. plenty of people have. For simple stuff like wood and plastic it'll be fine - but no hammer action does limit it and if you already have a 'proper' drill I wouldn't get the IXO for drilling. But if you have a drill and an IXO already, then the attachment isn't expensive and might fit your needs.

Is it worth paying more for this one or just get the gen 5?
@sterntechdaddy3 жыл бұрын
The newer model allows you to select a colour... the one in this video has a black rubber grip and feels a lot nicer than the older generation. That's reason enough for me to get the IXO 6. The accessories are up to you... they all look a bit weird on the IXO 6 as they were obviously designed for older models and they haven't bothered updating them, and there all fall well short of being essential anyway.
@Frank-fg4jx3 жыл бұрын

Great review - just what I needed to know, thank you, good comments well made😊👍 Would the cutter cut through, Eg 60 thou plastikard® (styrene sheet)? Thanks in advance 😊😊👍 I'm thinking of an IXO 6 with torque head and possibly the cutter🤔🤔 Sadly lots of these things are designed by disinterested, fast tracked CAD jockies that have never picked up a hand tool. My mate is a time served pattern maker and CAD jockey, he's also a design engineer, he's worked on trains, buses, cars, aircraft, he's also in his 40s an enthusiast - he's shocked by the latest batches of CAD Jockey/design engineers - even some in the job for five years or so (they're often clueless and disinterested yes men - ergo a downward spiral of mediocrity ensues). Also Bosch have let themselves down by not retooling the accessories - cost down exercise?
@sterntechdaddy2 жыл бұрын
It should cut through anything a few mm thick. For precision I'd use a jigsaw, but the cutter is pretty handy for trimming. By designing the IXO 6 to use the older addons Bosch saved a lot of time and money... but its a missed opportunity I think. The IXO 6 looks a bit weird with them fitted and I actually don't use any of the accessories - apart from the cutter, but that's a rarity.

The loading station... Why this nonsens? It's only made for loading up the main thing.
@sterntechdaddy2 жыл бұрын
It's handy if you use the IXO a lot as you can just put it in the cradle and it charges without having to plug it in. But there's no choice for which end the cable has to come out of - so it's a bit counter initiative.
