“If it doesn’t feel right, chances are it’s not right.” If I don’t take anything else from this video, I’m taking that. Trust you gut. No matter what friends or others say. Know yourself and be grounded so you know when foolishness is coming your way.

Going thru this right now! I KNOW this person is deceptive but I haven't caught him completely. So many gut feelings but when I address it, he always denies, gets mad and blames me. "Your past causes you to distrust me. You'll never catch me doing anything." THAT statement alone red flags me!

I never lend, I only give. It I can't afford to give it, or don't want to give it (based on who or the amount), then you can't have it. This has automatically narrowed the list to a few people and has given me piece of mind. It also helps to cut off people who are always needy, the victim, or have their hand out.

So true! Especially those folks who always speak negatively of others. I had a friend who did that, and then eventually I became the target of their negative talk. Even though it was a 30-year friendship, I dropped it like a hot potato lol. Thank you once again Ms. Iyanla for sharing your WISDOM.

Absolutely! A dog that brings a bone, will surely carry one back. I've always known that if someone is constantly telling me about another person's business, I'm nearly positive that they'll share my business with others. I'm very guarded with what I choose to share, and given my rather limited track record of friendships, if anyone has heard or saying anything about me, I am positive they're making it up because I spend very little time with folks, especially my colleagues. If I do spend time with colleagues, I'm talking about big issues like politics, and not my personal life issues. Even an ant knows not to come to my home, as there won't be one crumb available.

I just have to say, nothing is "all one thing". There is positive & negative in EVERYTHING. I'm not always negative, but I do point out a negative situation. Am I the red flag? I don't think so!
@TheRonskins
@TheRonskins 3 жыл бұрын
I don't believe Ms. Iyanla was referring to these types of circumstances because clearly one must raise an issue that's not exactly favourable should one ever arise. Lord knows I must do so with a few of my staff, but I'm addressing an issue or a behavior that will not work in our place of employment. I don't address personality or personal issues, but rather a behavior that isn't welcoming for the work environment. Also, I think the frequency is another important aspect. I believe Ms. Iyanla was referring to someone who ALWAYS has something negative to say or point out. Yes, I too would wonder why this person always likes to raise something negative or unfavourable regarding my look, my actions, my home, my choices, my whatever. Repeated negativity can work on a person's self esteem and confidence. The old corrective comments or the "hey, you might want to re-examine or re-evaluate or re-think" comments are just fine in healthy relationships, but if one is always negative with me, I might be less inclined to spend any quality time with them.

Thank you again for this information. You hit it right on tje point! But, can I add one more, Red flag? The one who is always competitive. If you say, " I'm going back to school for my GED" They will say, I'm already in college or I sign up for college and you know this is not true. This type is never happy for you. Thank you for such wise advice.🌷

From the onset, the flags are there. More often than not, people move too quickly to what they want to see. They peruse to what they believe they can handle and bypass the red flags. It a chess move with fingers crossed in hopes the other party will appreciate what they bring to the table. Doing the most to keep the synergy alive will make you collect those boogers and neatly place them away in hope they go disappear.

I ignored so many red flags. A week after chatting to a guy, he 'told me off' because I was online on WhatsApp and didn't reply to him quick enough - I ignored it. Anyway, it was a car crash of a 5 month relationship and I ended it after I started seeing aggressive and manipulative tendencies. Flipping heck - I had a lucky escape

I run late, I love and respect people, and I am a great friend. So that's a little silly..it's more of an anxiety thing, time management issue, and being overly thorough/slow with getting ready etc, I'm kind of a perfectionist. I think that kind of thing is reading too much into things..unless we're talking about ppl who are consistently RLLY late, like 1/2 hour to an hour late type a thing, like out of control

@7:45 The relationship with children thing is tricky. Ladies, 9 times out of 10, if a woman is “keeping a man from his child”, it’s a VERY good reason why. Now, I’m aware there are one offs, but that’s the exception. Not the rule. Dig deep before you believe the woman is just keeping him away. It’s probably a lot more to it.

This truth hurts so badly 😩...that intuition piece. You have to trust yourself. No one has ever taught me that. And those daddy issues...whew she is not lying. The thing is I know that I had daddy issues, he wasn’t there don’t even know him then to find out he wasn’t even my real dad and was abusive to me, but I did not listen to my intuition to heal first then get married. It has been such a rough road. Please pray for me. 😩 the one thing I thank God for is grace. And when Ms. Iyanla says ding, ding, ding and it low key irritates you, that’s your red flag you need to work on and/or walk away from. 😂😂 If you didn’t grow up with sound advice, God will place someone in your life to inoculate you.

And women will ignore a man's relationship with his kids. Some men flat out lie about their relationship and the reason why they don't see their kids is always the woman's fault. He needs to be doing what is necessary to get back in relationship with their kids by following the proper channels to do so. Also if he legally can't be alone with his kids though he has a relationship should be a red flag because he may not have done anything to the kids but he may be an abuser that abused the children's mother in front of them. Just be leery of men with complicated and difficlty relationships with their kids and or the children's mother.
