She may have really helped Karrueche. She hasn't gone back to Chris Brown and she has a legitimate career now and gets jobs for modeling and acting. She also seems to be in a healthy relationship. Nobody likes to be called out on their shortcomings or face themselves so I think that's why Karrueche chose to act like she didn't "need to be fixed" but in the end I think she benefited from it.

It’s really clear what Iyanla was doing and at some point should have been clear to Karreuche, who I absolutely love btw. Karreuche said that she wanted to clear up misconceptions about “who she was” to the public. Iyanla obviously knew that Karreuche couldn’t clear up a misconception about who ‘Karreuche the person’ was without Karreuche knowing who she was her damn self, or why she dated the wrong man, or what her voluntary participation was in all of the drama. People don’t want to take hard looks at themselves, they’d rather fix shit by looking for answers in all the external things around them. I can admit that Iyanla asks questions like a lawyer, but she used to be a lawyer so ultimately, it’s not Iyanla’s fault that the lesson was missed.

I was pissy that Iyanla was highly criticized by Karrueche's manager. He is an opportunist to the highest and she needs to be very careful with him. HE is the one who pretends to care about K, but in reality, he wants to cover K's mistakes as though it's not okay to air vulnerability. I feel like a lot of people do not like iyanla because she gives that kind of harsh truth therapy/advice which a lot of people need. People think of therapist or people who are meant to help you to be a coddler. I was one of those people who thought she was too harsh but I realize that you need Someone who isnt going to baby then in a sense. These are grown adults who need to recognize and be able to deal with their feelings and accept things from past that they can not change ...she’s not going to give you that “aww it’s gonna be all right baby you ain’t did nothing wrong” all the time because people need to accept their mistakes in certain situations as well. Hey, when you have a gift from God and you see someone hurting , the Holy Spirit is going to lead her and help her operate in that gift (right then and there). God warned us we would be outcast for our faith at some point and we are to be separate from the world, peculiar even.... So the fact that that manager doesn't understand that what went on in the interview with Ms Tran was exactly how God intended it to be simply shows his life is not guided by the Almighty and not led by/connected to the Holy Spirit. It's also proof that Iyanla is doing the right thing b/c folks are trying to treat her like an outcast. And it's not magic folks, the healing is a process, it won't come immediately.. OK I quit. Lol. The thing is, most people suffer trauma, depression etc which makes them unable to see themselves from the outside and make decisions which will help alleviate their pain. She didn't re-invent the wheel, but she is able to help people step outside their mind and see a way out. That takes some skill, at least in persuasion. Plus she's also had a rough life and survived so she has some solutions that seem simple to others but not to many people. For eg, women who lay down their lives for lousy men because they have a low self esteem. Simple right? But many women do it and don't know why and think they MUST suffer, esp Black women. She just drags people out their minds and tells them things their mothers/parents/loved ones etc should've told them long ago. You may call it placebo effect but she actually gives people what is normal for happy and successful development. I watch her sessions and she says what we are all thinking at the person's drama. She made a decent career out of it and you can't clown that.
