Iyashikei: the genre that will heal your soul

Iyashikei is a genre I am obsessed with. So I ended up talking about if for over an hour!

Ich habe gerade mal gut ein Drittel geschaut und muss jetzt erstmal pausieren aber wow, was für ein tolles und mühevolles Video. The Makanai hatte ich Anfang des Jahres auch gesehen und mich seitdem gefragt, nach welcher Art Serien ich weiter schauen muss, um etwas ähnliches mit dem gleichen Gefühl zu finden und ich wusste auch nicht so richtig, woran ich das festmachen soll, du beschreibst das aber alles ganz toll. Du hast schon einige Film/Serien/Spiel-Beispiele genannt, nach denen ich jetzt mal Ausschau halten werde, vielen Dank!

Wow it’s amazing you don’t have more views. This is great. 💕I loved the Maiko house show, but wasn’t aware it has is own Genre. „our little sister“ was also very touching. I have anxiety so shows like these really help me relax. Btw, Is English not your native language? I saw some German comments.

Yes! Those are amazing. And im happy to hear they are a way to help with anxiety. I hope you're doing well. No, English is not my native language. I have been living in Germany for over 20 years so many of my followers are German. But German isn't my native language either and I actually feel more comfortable writing my videos in English. People correct my grammar less this way 🤣

@@olschis_art thanks, yesterday I started watching one called “Todays Menu for the Emiya Family.” It’s mostly about grocery shopping and cooking meals for the family. It’s slow paced and the characters actually explain what they’re cooking and how to cook it as they go.

I love this video! I would love a list of recommendations of Iyashikei content outside of anime and manga (I can't wait to check out those live action shows and/or movies). Are there any video games or books? I've always felt Animal Crossing fits the genre.

In the file for my sources (link is in the description box) I list all of the mentioned works. Actually, Stardew Valley is considered an Iyashikei as well. I played nostalgic train as well. It's calm but also a bit sad. I feel like Little Witch in the Woods would also fit the category (it's still not completely finished as far as I know). And if you want some great walking simulators I would recommend games by Matt Newell on Steam, like Explore Fushimi Inari or Mýrdalssandur, Iceland. It's all on steam as I don't own a console. So computer games is all I know.

39:50 ooooh now i get what you mean the chill genre like heidi movie or hilda show or clarence. Yeah they represent a good childhood most of the watchers never had. Sad but it still could be viewed positively like at least living a childhood even if it was bad it's better than unexpected cancer or like getting aborted. Don't know reality harsh gotta be a stoic

It's so complicated. We can appreciate our childhood experiences, even if your childhood never was perfect. I think that is a more honest approach towards life in general.

Oh ja, gutes Beispiel. Es gibt da zwar etwas mehr Drama, aber trotzdem hat es viele cozy vibes und vor allem Stars Hollow fühlt sich wie zuhause ab.

Your understanding of Iyashikei seems off. You still need to concentrate and focus. Probably even more. It definitely is more relaxing though.
