Its 2019 Frist time I heard IZ sing the other Day. I saw him on my Facebook. I cryed truly cried when I heard him singing. I have listened to many songs since then and ordered a CD. His voice was a voice of a Angel. He touched my Heart his life touched my Heart and I on the other side of the world. We are Blessed truly Blessed. He was also and inspiration to all children and all of us. He was a brave man who cared for the Human race. His words. May he rest in peace.

Eu o ouvi a primeira vez no radia nos anos 1997 a música 🌈. Não sabia nada dele para mim ele era negro americano com uma voz fantástica. A um ano e meio eu vi a saber que era ele Através de um Ator, Diretor e roteiristas brasileiro ( Miguel Fala Bela). Descobri que ele então era havaiano, cantor, compositor e ativista e defendia os direitos dos povos originários do Havai. Como ele tem um nome muito difícil de se pronunciar aqui no Brasil ele é muito pouco conhecido. Confesso que levei uns dois meses para aprende a pronunciar o nome dele Israel kamakawiwo'ole ( Olhar certeiro( que sabe o que quer)). Em fim para mim foi assim que ele surgiu para mim na minha vida.

I went to his concerts and always so happy, unfortunately I went to his memorial/funeral at city hall. It was very emotional. He was always for the people with lots of ALOHA! Hundreds attended.

Plus, I believe it was said somewhere that he had a medical problem , as did his brother Skippy, that made him gain weight. I can just look at a picture of food & gain weight, I swear!!!! And look at how badly he tried to take it off, & was also trying to get ready for surgery for it but died before he could have it. God just wanted him up in Heaven for His choir is what I really believe! I hope my father & brother have met him up there because I know they would just love him!

I first heard IZ sing on an episode of ER. Over the Rainbow, I have loved that song all my life but when I heard him sing it I knew I had to find out who he was. I did. My husband and I went to Hawaii in 2004, and we went to a Luau on Maui and IZ was playing in the back round. I bought his CD and have since purchased more. When I found out that he was no longer, I was so sad to hear it. He had a voice of an angel. Still play his music, for me and my beautiful grand daughter who also loves his sound and spirit.

I'm more often known to listen to heavy metal music but, Israel was such a beautiful person & with the most beautiful & soulful voice. When i'm feeling thoughtful, i listen to him & have a good cry too. His far too early death & the fact he suffered with such poor health & yet still sang so beautifully & cared so deeply, really hits home. I do wonder if he suffered from undiagnosed Prader-Willi syndrome or similar....though he was clearly intelligent. Anyone who knew him were trully blessed. I wish i could have met him. He's over the rainbow, somewhere out there.
