I got married in the early seventies and I sang that same song to my baby girl, as she grew she sang it to me at bed time, then as my kids grew and had their own children and my grandchildren grew up either singing to me or me to them, I still enjoy hearing "IZZY" singing like it was yesterday ....love all his music

I am always writing about iZ and I felt the deepest sorrow and unceasing anguish in my heart when I got to know that we lost this beautiful man who was just perfect in every single way. I am sure, that if I was close to him, I would have fight to save him from the ones who killed him. But I do also understand that not matter what, when the time comes, we have to leave, and go were all souls go when our missions in life has been completed and he did completed his missions in this life. He then, went to the place from which he will come back to live and again he will teach us even more than he did this time. Now, I think that when we cry for him, we also cry for ourselves, because we need people like IZ in this cold and suffering world, to not loose ouselves in the misery and desperation that it is growing in this world nowadays. I have been looking for another one of this exceptional kind of man, without success. If someone here knows a man that it is like him, please let me know, I will be happy to know him and to love him as much as I love IZ!

Nobody killed him. Brudda Iz passed on from heart and respiratory troubles. His wife took very good care of him until his final heart attack. He weighed over 700 pounds and nothing he or Drs tried could take the excess weight off. His body laid in state at Hawaii's Capitol building, the only non politician given that honor. Traffic was backed up for miles as people paid respects. Is knew his time was short, but he also knew that in his lifetime here on this Earth, he was well loved. My gosh Bruddah Iz, Thee Formidable Israel Kamakawiwoole, whose songs transcended generations. The aloha runs deep. I left Hawaii in 1999 for the 1st time in my life but couldn't listen to Bruddah Iz music because it would have made it sooo hard for me to be away from home and do what I had to do. It took courage a few years later to finally allow Bruddah Iz singing to bring me back to my roots. How He fills you with pain & love & blessings all at the same time. I will miss you forever, as I miss home forever. I can go back home but it is not the home I left......You & then, I will cherish forever....

You must have excellent taste in both music and people. I didn't know him personally but from video's I used to see, he was a happy man with a child like heart & I rarely ever saw him without a smile on his face. Add to that he had a beautiful voice & could play musical instruments, made him a very gifted beautiful soul. ;)
