With version 3, iZotope Nectar has undergone a serious upgrade. Six main modules, including EQ, Harmony, Compressors, Dimension, De-esser, and Pitch & Auto Level, supply you with robust vocal processing. But the real magic lies in Vocal Assistant, which uses machine learning to detect and correct a whole slew of hard-to-rein-in vocal problems. Beyond that, the Unmask feature digs buried vocals out of a mix, placing them front and center. You also get Melodyne 4 essential, which offers powerful, transparent pitch and time correction, and iZotope RX Breath Control, which automatically suppresses breaths in dialog or vocal recordings. If you're struggling to get great-sounding vocals (or simply want to speed up your workflow), Nectar 3 has the powerful vocal processing tools you need.

4:10 this very intuitive visual of the gain reduction from the compressor is something I liked from Nectar 2 so I'm glad they kept it. I was highly unimpressed with the pitch correction in Nectar 2 though so I hope they've improved the algorithms a lot.

It’s not required, but they give you the option to add an authorization to your iLok if you work between multiple computers. iZotope is really supportive with getting your licenses handled with the least amount of headache, and I really love their company for that.

I want to use the unmask feature for both my chorus and my verses. It seems like I can only use the unmask feature for one track at a time. Because you can only relay the instrumental one time per track to carve out space.

Great video, thank. Regarding umasking, is the EQ application dynamic? If not, the EQ reduction would then apply even when vocals are absent, which might not be desirable. Thanks.

Hi, Steve. Thanks for your interest! At this time, the unmask is not dynamic. Once it's set, that EQ curve stays on the track the whole time. You can automate the bypass button if you'd like, so that way it removes the EQ whenever there aren't any vocals. Feel free to give us a shout if you have any other questions! so sadly my problem is that nectar 3 and insight 2 or even ozone 8 always shutdown when i use them with other program so ive been forced to use ozone 8 as a standalone ANYWAYS MY QUESTION IS DOES INSIGHT 2 OR NECTAR 3 HAVE A STANDALONE VERSION BECAUSE I WOULD LIKE TO GIVE THE RELAY PLUGIN A TEST

If anyone else sees this the answer is "not in reason 7." Reason 11 however does have plugin rack support for VST instruments and fx like izotope.

AFAIK Reason 9 started supporting VST2 64bit , but only Reason 10+ fixed the performance issues (high DSP) . Reason 11+ is my current safe choice. Good luck, Reasoner 😌

How do you export the audio out with the effects or do I have to rerecord it

It's not a stand-alone program. it's a VST plugin for Digital Audio Workstations. In my case, I use Reaper. I record what I want to record then I'll create a send (or multiple sends) to the effects I want on the vocal, in the order I want them. When things sound how you want, you just render it to a WAV file (or your desired output). You can apply the effects directly on the track itself, but I find using sends gives more control. Especially in controlling when a delay is or isn't used during a single track.

Multiple ways to do this. If you mix down with effects active they will be printed or you can render/freeze tracks and mute originals. I usually do this then do some additional mixing before I ultimately render for msatering.

Can someone help me please, i bought nectar 3 and tested the vocal assisten with feeding it with three different eq'd versions of the same recording, and everytime it gave me a different 'answer', it did not sound very good on either on them, so i had to fix the eq alot and put on another dynamic vst and compressor. Is this whole thing just BS or am i too stupid to understand what its all about? Btw using Cubase.

I do not find how to do it...that is NUTZ!@!! you should be able to place your cursor over a parameter and be able to change the value!!!!! not even double clicking at the parameter! worst workflow of any plugin I know!
