Infamous: Second Son (stylized as inFAMOUS: Second Son) is an open world action-adventure video game, developed by Sucker Punch Productions and published by Sony Computer Entertainment for the PlayStation 4 video game console.
Infamous Second Son is set seven years after the good ending of Infamous 2, in which Cole MacGrath activated the Ray Field Inhibitor (RFI) to destroy a Conduit (superhumans named for their ability to "channel" powers) named John White, also known as the Beast and cure the Plague. The explosion that resulted was originally thought to have killed all Conduits across the globe; however, those outside of the blast radius or with a natural resistance have survived. Fearing the Conduits' abilities after the destruction of Empire City, the US eastern seaboard and the worldwide economy, the Department of Unified Protection (DUP) is formed. Now, major cities across the United States are heavily monitored for Conduit activity, whom the DUP have labeled collectively as "bio-terrorists". The game is set in Seattle, Washington, now under DUP jurisdiction. Players control Delsin Rowe, a 24 year-old slacker graffiti artist, who wants to help the community by protesting against the government, which he hates. Infamous is set in a open world setting, where the player can do as they please. Parkour is a major element and players can destroy the environment to their use. The player starts with the smoke element and obtains other powers by defeating other conduits.

It just felt half done. No karma specific abilities, no karma bomb. It was straight damage. My least favorite power, plus u get it after u beat the game. STILL, we get 3 AWESOME powers, so i can't complain

Only powers in the game that were actually good were smoke, neon, and video along with Delsin's main ability known as power absorption. Other than that the story of the game lacked badly. The overall story was basically you going to Seattle just to save your tribe because they got concrete daggers put into them. And that's basically why you had to go to Seattle to get the concrete power and that was it

Wish They had more powers to this game. I remember in an interview the main developer of this game said neon and smoke powers were only the tip of the iceberg. I got excited thinking we would get a dozen powers but to my regret we got one new power and an underdeveloped one. Guess smoke and neon was the tip and concrete and video was the whole thing. Overall the game was fun but I feel it had SO much more potential. :'( really upset that sucker punch didn't do more to make this game awesome.

I think Smoke is good for melee with its dashes and dash take downs but Video has a sword plus he can go invisible. Neon can snipe and is fast. Smokes Karma Bomb seems the weakest based on its actual range. Neon has the best range Karma Bomb and it seems that Video has the wost range because it only hits one thin column in front.

SMOKE: Good for on-the-move and melee combat. The Smoke Dash negates all possible damage from DUP troopers while used, making it an effective dodgeroll. Cinder Blast is the equivalent of a shotgun, and the Orbital Drop requires Delsin to have open sky above him to be used. Sulfur Bombs provide an easy method of incapacitating or outright killing DUPs and civilians. NEON: At its best when sniping, thanks to the Laser Focus. Aiming for their legs or head gives you the type of karma correlating to the target's color. With Light Speed, it's great for exploration as Delsin can run up walls. Stasis Bubbles can be hard to get used to, if you're not too good at aiming the Neon Beam. Radiant Sweep is the best Karma Bomb, having great horizontal range and always perfect to activate in a pinch. VIDEO: A great all-around power that's best with its stealth techniques. Using the Shroud of Invisibility, Delsin can subdue or execute enemies while being undetected, and when done well, can infinitely do this technique. The Video Torrent is a weaker projectile, but equivalates to a machine-gun with its fire rate. The Bloodthirsty Blades have the capability of homing into a target, but try not to be near a billboard or wall when firing. Hellfire Swarm, while heavily damaging, has a very thin range forward. I love smoke (true hero) Like the neon sight, a headshot would instantly subdue smaller enemies and make the bigger ones cough This means you can dash-subdue them. And smoke has 2 ways of instantly healing you Dashing into vents, and subduing enemies True hero neon gives infinite light speed witch allows you to travel FAST. I'm afraid you're not right. Smoke's just your all-around power, classicly rewarding headshots and having a normal rocket. Neon's all about precision, with very little power, but the ability to one-shot if fired correctly, and has a charged beam with a little explosion radius, but high damage. Video seems to be about swarming the battlefield with small triple rockets and rapid fire. And concrete's about just crashing stuff, with no Karma-affecting options and no Karma Bombs. Your classical "have fun and wreck stuff after you completed the game". Do you see their intentions with powers now?

Each power still gives you the same basic stuff, shooting, movement abilities, etc. Even if each one varies in its stats or its better to use this one from cover or that one from the roof, the end result is still the same. And imagine what they could have done differently, how each power could have a totally different purpose altogether. Like instead of each power basically being "wreck everyone and everything," one could have just been used for mobility, one for defense, one for offense, and one for... I don't know, downloading porn straight to your brain? As it stands, each one is pretty much the same thing, you shoot, you move, you blow everything up. Can you really blame the government for wanting to wrangle up all the conduits when even the nerd with the worthless-sounding video power apparently can utilize it to such extremely destructive ends, if Delsin's use of it is any indicator?

OckhamAsylum It's a TPP shooter. Of course all the powers are used to shoot. Looking at you, if they did like you wrote it, you would be angry that the powers are so repetitive and you have so little choice. Anyways, the powers are pretty much what you said, just aren't that concentrated. With video you can be invisible, and you move the fastest, so it's a stealthy/mobility power, as the torrent deals little damage.Smoke's offensive, because of it's straightforward nature. Concrete's defensive, because you take less damage while having this power selected, and the dash makes you an unstoppable force, negating knockbacks and such. Neon's just a more accurate offensive power. Think through your comment before you post it, please.

Neon is utilizing the magnetized neon gas turned into neon plasma, giving it weight (thought not much) and mass. That's why the neon shots are effective.

you don't lose Neon... after you gain ALL the neon powers... you can absorb from Smoke vents for Smoke, or Neon signs for Neon... When you get Video, you'll only be stuck on Video until you get all the powers for Video.... and the power missions are all back-to-back, so you'll be back to selecting any skill at any time relatively quickly. just find a source.

If your using neon and you run out you but theres no neon source's around you but there's smoke you just absorb tht and away you go its cool coz you can switchem out to suit the situation or the way you feel best at hand. :)

I've played and beaten both. My point is that the first games seemed too on the nose for the developers. They switched it up. Also the fire was just oil in the second one and they experimented with the obscurity by adding trash conduits in the first one.

Second, 11 people upvoted me because I KNOW WHAT I'M TALKING ABOUT. You could at least TRY to do the same. People liked the trash conduits because they'd never seen people have powers over garbage, over something no one would wish for if given the chance. Lightning, fire and ice are so easily confused with magic that you lose the meaning of the game. The powers are meant to be obscure: Trash, smoke, paper, neon, concrete, and video aren't what people think about when they first think of superpowers and the point of the game is that they aren't superpowers. They need to be recharged. It's what makes a Conduit different from Superman. Superman just has powers, a conduit absorbs energy and lets it out somewhere else in different forms.

Maybe that's why they went for Smoke Neon Video and Concrete because they have characteristics of the 4 natural elements but even I have to say that Neon would fit the element of Wind and Video would fit the element of Water better because when you absorb Neon it has a characteristic of a vapor or a gas which is something I would link to the element of Wind and as for Video well Water and Video are elements which can take on different shapes and I guess that's why I think they are the same I just wonder if Delsin will get new powers in Infamous Second Son 2 and will he keep the 4 powers that be got here and will be get a Karma Bomb for Concrete

I wish Cole Magrath was in this game. Spoiler alert for anyone who hasn't played both original inFamous games 1 & 2. Cole dies in the canon good ending he basically killed all conduits in the world with a energy device to destroy a monster called "The Beast," doing so also would mean he would die as well. In total it was only temporary considering years later with people like Delsin, more explanation in the Cole's legacy DLC for second son
